The Third Man
Excluded heat 4 when leading after clash with worky rider... EF heat 9 when leading... Missed 2 mins in heat 13... Not a bad showing.. Reverse those points lost from Claus and we'd have taken a point... Plenty to think about when we return in the league... Updates say he turned right on the Workington rider when he was trying to pass him Edited April 20, 2014 by The Third Man

scaramanga
Updates say he turned right on the Workington rider when he was trying to pass him in all fainess i think claus was slowing and maybe developing the engine trouble which cost him later on when he clashed with morris that was the 3rd attempt of that heat 1st attempt claus and rene clipped going in to 1st bend then in 2nd rene fell then 3rd morris was all over claus after catching him they clipped and morris bounced off fence and went on centre green how he never hit anyone was a miricle defenatly deserves praise for how he avoided all the centre green staff Edited April 20, 2014 by scarra
stoneylegend
Great nights racing enjoyed it Berwick were good guests and provided plenty of entertainment Vissing dangerous though and could of seriously hurt Ash :-/ However his recklessness was berwicks undoing as it fired our lads up. Steen Jensen was brilliant though :-) Everyone in our team played their part well done the Comets
crescent girl
Great nights racing enjoyed it Berwick were good guests and provided plenty of entertainment Vissing dangerous though and could of seriously hurt Ash :-/ Hmmm, that's one race. Same move pulled by Chris Mills (on Jensen) in Heat 2 coming out of second bend and (much-more dangerously) by Rene Bach on Wethers -- who was clearly going past him -- with a right turn two-thirds of the way down the back straight in Heat 7. Now I'm condoning, or praising, no-one. But your quote of "dangerous" works for both sides. Good enough match, though, track drying out spoiled things a bit. Took a bit too long to run on a cold night. Edited April 20, 2014 by crescent girl
Lord Lucan
Well, that proved to be quite an eventful meeting, little bit of everything thrown in, excellent!! Some really close/fast racing tonight with good contributions to the entertainment from several riders from both sides. Definitely like the look of young Jensen, very stylish and looked really comfortable around our track, certainly wont be at reserve long with scoring like that? Thought right at the start when Kus/Doolan both landed wins that we were going to have one of those night's again but, for some reason, the wheels fell off half way through and Berwick just didn't maintain the strong start? Bellego/Wethers as expected rode solidly all night ably supported by Jensen but just lacked that extra bit of support, Vissing looked very quick and definitely unfortunate to pack up when in front of Howarth, that had all the makings of a classic last bender, Kyle all over him couldn't get by, damn, denied again!! Great to see some different Comets making the headlines, best meeting easily for Campton, great starts and kept on going, disappointed that he didn't get the Ht15, worth it for me? Josh seemed a bit off the pace on occasion as did Ricky, Kyle got better as the night went on, hope those wins boost his confidence while Rene looked a little out of sorts, good returns for Ash/Chris at the bottom end made for a solid all round team performance, certainly need to get more consistency if we are to challenge for the titles but, WIP I think, we're getting there, slowly!! screm
Berwick, early on, looked like they might have nicked a point, before falling away in the later races. The season is now firmly up and running, you get the feeling there`s more questions than answers with this Berwick team. Hopefully once the averages have sorted themselves out we will see an improving picture. Edited April 21, 2014 by screm
emilali
Looks like it was the same 2 again letting Berwick down. Why Kus was signed on a two year deal god only knows, and Doolan really should be doing better with his experience.

Yeah fair point you make there, just really frustrating when they arent riding to there potential. If that top 5 all go well, with Jensen going good now at reserve, its a solid team. comet49
Remember Kevn as a Comet, he was good when he gated but don't think he did much passing. Unfortunately he seems to be on the downward path now. Can only see Jensen improving though, looks a good un.

havenagotahope
In some respects I can see why the club took on both Doolan and Kus as if both found previous form they would have a lot to offer over a new rider or a big hitting number one and a lower averaged second string but on early showing it appears that that is not going to happen. The league starts next week how long can we wait for it all to click. There are riders out there who can do the job. Tin hat on sand bags piled up ready for the incoming. No tin hats needed, I see the point your making though I don't see any rider out there who can do any better then we have right now, not even this promotion would dare to go back to the likes of Aspregren or Edberg. As I posted earlier we can only hope that once the averages have sorted themselves riders will start to perform in their new positions. A young lad who rode Shielfield last year will be known to two members of the team and is flying this season already and would become an asset
