JamieE
Really enjoyed my first trip to Beaumont Park, thought it was a great little stadium and impressive to see what has been achieved by Leicester Speedway in building it from scratch. The close proximity of the spectating areas to the track reminded me of my happy memories of trips to Trelawny stood at the start/finish line! Although the racing wasn't great in this meeting, the atmosphere generated from the large crowd and being so close to the action definitely added a lot to the meeting and made for an entertaining night out, can't wait for my next visit. Shame that the racing seems to be as bad as I'd heard about though, I hope the promotion can get that sorted and keep builiding up the stadium, as Leicester definitely have a good thing going there I think. The presentation impressed me too - mostly modern music, clear sound system and decent, knowledgeable presenters. Â As for the team performances, Doyle was obviously the pick of the Leicester team, Ljung and in particular Doyle were 2 very astute signings for the Lions, would have been quite happy to see Doyle as the Bees number 1 for this year, was always going to be a massive bargain on that average, he'll be on a 9 in no time. Â So pleased to see the Bees finally click as a unit from 1-7 and get the result they deserve for their efforts, absolutely solid in the end, although at 6 points down I was struggling to see how a win would be possible, thought we'd be lucky to hold on for a point. Great to see Bomber have a good night again though, along with his later rides on Friday night he appears to have started making some decent starts and it's no surprise to see the points coming his way as a result, he can mix it with the best of them in the first turn if can get there with the pack! As for Fricke, he had some tough heats to start with but kept Skornicki honest in his first one, albeit it ended as a Leicester 5-1, but after that got better and better, he's going to go a long way in the sport I think, can understand the hype about him! The heat 9 Bees 5-1 was a surprise but once again Sarjeant excelled himself and is doing a solid job for a number 7, Garrity finally staying on his bike too in all his races to get the score he's capable of.
speedybee
Good meeting. Some very good racing. Maybe not that many passes. But I don't go to speedway to see how many pases there are just to watch some good racing and we got it tonight. Not quite sure how you can say that? To me, it was like watching paint dry. I love the set up there, the stadium, the fans, the presentation (much better than Brandon), the closeness to the racing (again, much better than Brandon) the atmosphere. But that was amongst the most boring, follow-my-leader speedway I have ever seen, on a very cold night. Great Bees win, but we were relieved to get home and do something exciting, like putting the kettle on. Â If the promotion got the track sorted for good racing, they'd be onto an absolute winner.
Big Al
Good meeting. Even if the LIONS lost. Some very good racing. Maybe not that many passes. But I don't go to speedway to see how many pases there are just to watch some good racing and we got it tonight. If we had a decent team to back up Jason Doyle. The lions would be winning far more races than they are now. I'm well curious to know what your definition of "good racing" is, Weatherwatcher. Please explain a bit more, if you'd be so kind?

double_O
Big thankyou to Fricke and Lawson for their efforts last night. Â Was Peter York on the centre green as the presenter kept calling him William Lawson!! Â Apart from a couple of races between Perry and Garrity in hts 2 and 12 the racing was so poor. Â After 3 defeats including the embarrasment of losing at Birmingham, we are back in the title race for 3rd place!!!! Â Being realistic, we are and will be too inconsistent this season and wont reach the play-offs - with Belle Vue and Lakeside my tips to be the semi final fodder for Poole and Kings Lynn. Â Still with less than 3 seasons left, any away win will be enjoyable.
wandersome
Says the person that's made 365 posts on a speedway 'fans' forum. You miss the point cb252. Long eye is much more than just your common or garden lowly speedway fan. He's part of the pit crew at Leicester for gawd sake. He knows important people who know stuff. This means he knows stuff you will never understand and gives him the insight into the sport so far in advance of you or I. I need to check but I think most of his 300 odd posts clearly show this.. erm.. you retard! Â Well, at least in one person's head I'm sure this would appear to be the case anyway!! Â Mick. wandersome
I'm guessing Sky TV are rushing to get the Elite Leagues newest track on the telly. I bet they can't wait... Anyone have any info when that's happening? Edited April 20, 2014 by volty

Big Al
A few years ago when they were building the circuit and publishing photos, I kept thinking that it looked really narrow with long straights and the bends didn't look any wider - but I just put it down to camera angles and perspectives, because I didn't believe anyone could get a purpose built track wrong ... Â Be interesting to see those photos again. Just have a look on google earth. Then look at Berwick. All will be confirmed!
Astill lodge lion
Good to see things never change here. Weatherwatcher still saying he doesn't go to speedway for the passes & Volty still moaning about the lack of passes even when watching at home. I respect both your opinions, but why do you have to repeat them after every meeting on a subject that has been done to death? Â Yes, the racing was poor yesterday, but i felt it was acceptable in the previous league meetings & the Ben fund meeting. Â Don't know what happened to Mads yesterday, disappointed by his 3rd & 4th rides. Didn't expect much more from Snornicki. Felt Perry should've been able to hold off Garrity after Jason lost so much ground around bend 3&4, but maybe I'm being harsh of Tom. Â Got to pick up a home win next week, looks worrying that too many teams are picking up points at BP. Yes, we are probably better away than home, but we will still not pick up many away points at the best teams or those with small tracks, which then doesn't leave a lot of other meetings.
