CITY GEARBOXES Vikings went to joint top of the Midland Development League with a resounding 24-12 win over 2010 league champions Long Eaton at Brandon.

No.1 Ryan Tery-Daley maintained his unbeaten run of form scorching to a four ride 12 point maximum whilst skipper John Markham was unbeaten by an opposing rider with 7 paid 9 to record a paid maximum.

New signing Adam Sheppard had paid six from two completed outings coming a stop having lost a fuel line bolt in his second ride. 15 year old debutant Connor Fletcher had motor troubles on his No.1 bike in his first ride before falling and damaging his clutch in his second.

For the Invaders Lee Springthorpe’s night came to an abrupt end with his chain snapping and ripping off his front cog. Lee Geary top scored with paid 7 from 4 rides whilst Ben Hewitt impressed with some determined riding.

The win and the two league points makes Sunday’s trip to Mildenhall to face Milton Keynes Knights a top of the table clash with the Vikings .
