But 2007 adds up to 9 ;)

Can see another defeat here, think I'll stay home and gorge on Easter eggs instead.

Witches by 20 - is that what youre saying?! (winking smiley)

Despondent Dave Stummings here can only see one of two winners here, either the rain as Shadders has said or the Twipswich, another disappointing meeting for the Rockets I predict…..

The post-match report from Dame Hilder Sampford will be the usual rubbish, Garrity this, Lambert that, Bunyan, you know the rest! God I’m getting like that Chris feller……..

Was it only a few weeks ago we were over the moon after a spectacular last heat win at Peterborough?

Yep it's funny how things change isn't it.

You were looking to win the league a couple of weeks ago.

Yes it’s funny how things change. On cloud nine after what we thought was a fantastic win, but reality has soon kicked in here. Look I can’t ride a speedway bike, have tried, but I was frightened to go more than about 15mph [or should that be kilometres?] The guys risk life and limb and hats off to them for that.

What we have at Rye House is a team that has obviously showed the win at Peterborough was a fluke. Peterborough are poor, although I can’t see Rye repeating their win in the PL match return at the home of the Panthers. I so hope the current team can prove me wrong, that includes Simon Lambert. But the current team are weak, one outstanding rider in Kennett and as previously stated a team of second strings and reserves.

Ipswich has a much more solid look about them. Somerset tore through Rye last Saturday, exposing all the weakness’s we have. A lot of the passing has been done on the inside this year, especially exiting the 4th band and into the 1st bend.

The racing has been really good thus far at Rye and long may that continue. But we have a situation here. Can we have good racing with a quality team? If not do we stick to good racing and a poor Rockets team? I want both, but after the shower at Lakeside wiping the board with Birmingham last week, will the shower faithful go and watch that each week at a track I believe to be as poor as Leicester?

My want? Good close racing, Rye to win every week and decent fish & chips, but I know I can’t have it all….

...including a shock/refreshing change in attitude by our promoter so early in the season. From today's SStar;

'"I'm worried about Simon, his problems are not machinery-related which is all the more worrying."

Never one to make knee-jerk decisions, the veteran promoter did hint that changes could be on the way if things don't get better.

"The jury is definitely out on Simon at the moment. He knows it and knows he has to improve."'
