john birch
Absolutely imperative Bees take at least five points over the next two nights. We should be able to outscore Lions top five and i'm looking for the reserves to fill their boots. Must see an improvement in the track though - abysmally slick last week. Riders like Harris and Hansen need dirt. Bees by 50 - 40 tonight and a narrow win tomorrow too.

I agree with all that, Doyle, Korneliussen and Hougaard should keep it interesting but our reserves should outscore Leicesters by a good amount. I think we will win by 12n we need maximum points to prove our playoff credentials
Woz01
Not good to drop a point at home to Leicester, we just have to claim it back tomorrow. I thought Harris deserved heat 15 ahead of Hans, he didn't look quick enough to me. Overall not to bad, dropped points from Garrity when leading and Hansens injury didn't help but we will just have to pick ourselves up tomorrow and get the away win. stevebrum
The Bees can forget thoughts of being strong enough to make the top 4 if they cant take all points against Leicester and fail to win at the worst side in the league. Fair play to the Lions who are performing better than most predicted.
TheSmiler
A dropped point is never good however we did lose Hansen. Hope both him and Hougaard are ok. Â We will just have to get them back tomorrow. Good to see better scores from Hans and Bomber. Howarth will be severely missed tomorrow, what a star!
mdmc82
Hansen getting injured in the first heat was big loss for us tonight esp when dirt on the track for him to race like at Poole. Also Garrity falling when on a 5-1 was difference although glad he was ok.  Mads is always brilliant on our track Much better from our top two with Harris looking fast  Rider of the night for me though was Howarth who was amazing with mix of gating & racing.  Hansen waiting for X-rays on knee & back. He's great at Leicester so will be a big loss. Hope we hear some good news on both Hansen & Patrick.  Brilliant crowd again tonight The Bees can forget thoughts of being strong enough to make the top 4 if they cant take all points against Leicester and fail to win at the worst side in the league. Fair play to the Lions who are performing better than most predicted. Speedway isn't always about strong & weak sides. Some riders ride better on different tracks. Coventry has always been one of Mads & wells best tracks
SCB
Thats 3 league points thrown away now at Birmingham and tonight. Bit frustrating. Edited April 18, 2014 by SCB

Midland Red
Not able to attend tonight, so . . . Â How was the track, especially the problematic first turn "hole"? Â Who was the announcer (Gordon Camwell still listed on the website)? Â Thanks in advance!
TheSmiler
We are simply not good enough. Oh here we go again. I did wonder when your pessimism returned. Nobody expects us to win the league. If you look at Birmingham tonight let's be thankful we can even win meetings. Think of their poor fans. Not even we were this bad last season. It's quite puzzling how we lost there now though.

The Lions may not be as bad as everyone seems to think they are? Well done Lions.

Coventry has always been one of Mads & wells best tracks   Really, so Brum and Leicester are good enough to make the play offs then?   Thats 3 league points thrown away now at Birmingham and tonight. Bit frustrating.  Very much so.     Perhaps you should forget your preconceptions and not judge too quickly? The Lions may not be as bad as everyone seems to think they are? Well done Lions.  Perhaps you can put a general message out then because i think EVERYONE (including the Speedway Star) has the Lions as basement dwellers. Perhaps best read my post fully because i actually said `Fair play to the Lions who are performing better than most predicted.`
speedybee
A point dropped that was ill afforded tonight. Very big crowd and the best away fans representation I can remember in recent years. All contributed to a great atmosphere and sense of anticipation on a sunny evening, which soon evaporated when it became apparent that good racing wasn't on the agenda. Hardly an overtake at all in the first half of the meeting, and only a couple of great efforts from Korneliussen and Ljung, and some sterling work from Howarth and a revitalised Harris kept things interesting, though a last heat race for the extra match point kept up a modicum of interest, as did the speculation as to whether Garrity would stay on his bike. Â It seemed to me that the riders' call for more dirt on the track must have fallen on deaf ears. Blue groove and sparks were the order of the day and it required the likes of Howarth to ride a couple of meters from the fence to stand much chance of passing. A shame, after all the excitement of seeing our racers going for it at Poole last Monday. Very standard fare, but it does set things up nicely for the return tomorrow at Beaumont Park, where another big crowd can be expected.
mdmc82
Stevebrum - I didn't mean Leicester (and def not brum) will make play offs. What I was saying is some teams will do better on certain tracks than others due to having riders who are "track experts" at that track. That's also something promoters often consider when looking for guests  That's why Hansen would be a big miss for bees tomorrow as a Leicester track expert and rides very well there This Coventry side lost to Birmingham and that says it all really. With Garrity in agony through injury and Hans riding with a busted knee. Both nowhere near fit and still only lost by 2. speedybee
Dave Hammond Love Dave Hammond and his smooth easy cheerful style. What is really odd this year is the total lack of any thought that has gone into the music presentation. No rider theme tunes, no signature Geno or Ride On Time or Fanfare for the Common Man or Final Countdown or War pre race build ups. Instead we have .... The return of that old anachronism, the National Anthem! You couldn't script it...

That's also something promoters often consider when looking for guests    I don't disagree with that. However my point is it doesn't matter who is riding for the visitors and if they have track experts or not. Clubs like Leicester and Brum will (and should) be meetings they target for maximum points. Indeed it will make it harder for the home team if the visitors have `experts` in the team. If the home side cant raise there game to beat teams and take all the points on offer who are struggling for wins anywhere don't deserve to be considered play off contenders. flagrag
Looks like Leicester are trying to get Thorsell to guest tomorrow I did hear they were trying to contact Richard Lawson as well
lionstigersnotbearsohmy
Well done to the Lions tonight on grabbing a point. Speedy recoveries to Paddy and Kenneth. Enjoyed my first visit to Brandon in many a year. Great atmosphere from the visiting support on turns 1 and 2. Excellent performance from Kyle Howarth. Hell there was even some passing!!
