bigeddiechek
I couldn't give two hoots what makes you smile, my invitation for you to put me on ignore still remains. When Berwick had this meeting before the field that night was good but not great IMO, this time round IMO this might just be the best ever field for a meeting since Berwick returned to Shielfield. If the weather behaves itself Berwick should be rewarded with a massive crowd. I wouldn't wish to miss out on some comedy genius! I agree with you - again - which is the real reason I would choose the ignore button for you. It looks like one of the best line-ups Berwick have ever had, especially in such a meaningful meeting. I think it will be absolutely buzzing. Having been unsure of Kus's confidence when we signed him, recent performances have me thinking differently. He's lightening out of the gate, and it will take World Champion material to get past him when he does that at Shielfield. I will put my neck on the line here and predict Matej to go through to the next round. I also note from the Bandit's newsletter that he has chosen to ride for Berwick despite Czech authorities asking him to ride in some European thingy. Maybe he is settling into Berwick ready to fill the void left by Rymel and Makovsky? Maciej Janowski has to be fancied to win.

screm
Wrong! Not so as the Berwick newsletter indicates, Kolodziej was indeed due to race at Berwick, then him and Janowski swapped venues. Anyway we have our line-up and its a one to look forward to.

screm
What do we know about Daniel Gappmaier? Not a name I've heard before. Checkout speedwayresults.com, there`s some previous results from meetings Gappmaier has taken part in, not to many from last year but one or two from the years previous. Star Fever
I don't see a problem with Chris Harris racing in the qualifiers. He has earned the right to take part by being one of the best British riders, even if he isn't quite up to the standard of the GP series.I'm sure he'll be happy heading to Berwick for this round rather that going to St Johann again where he was knocked out of the qualifying rounds last year. Lets face it it doesn't matter if he qualifies or not - he'll get in it somehow just as he did last year when he'd already been knocked out in the earlier stages! Care to name the all the GB riders who are better than him? Niamh Obviously there's only Tai who deserves to be in the GP. Harris is certainly one of the bunch in the second tier of GB riders but NONE of those deserve to be in the GP on merit - they have to first PROVE they're good enough by qualifying (which of course Harris failed to do)

screm
This has been a busy week in Geneva, with a stream of information coming out from the FIM's headquarters. Much of this was included in our last Black & Gold Bulletin, but knowing extra details has allowed us to proceed with our own plans. As we have provided for previous major events, we will have additional catering on the back straight -- food and a bar -- and our turnstiles will be open from 5pm, with a entertainment programme planned for early arrivals.Edinburgh's Craig Cook and our own Matej Kus will be the competitors with most support of course, but we expect a fair number of visitors from several overseas nations to be coming to Berwick (and helping our local) economy) for the weekend.Matej, Cookie and the other riders are fully aware they are all now just fifteen races away from next season's Grand Prix campaign -- their first five of them on June 7th.Seems it might be a pretty spirited affair! The complete line-up, in riding order, for the meeting is:1. Chris Harris (UK)2. Jason Doyle (Australia)3. Mathieu Tressarrieu (France)4. Roland Benko (Hungary)5. Tobias Kroner (Germany)6. Kenneth Bjerre (Denmark)7. Josh Grajczonek (Australia)8. Maciej Janowski (Poland)9. Linus Sundstroem (Sweden)10. Tomas Suchanek (Czech Republic)11. Matej Kus (Czech Republic)12. Hans Andersen (Denmark)13. Daniel Gappmaier (Austria)14. Przemyslaw Pawlicki (Poland)15. Theo Pipjer (France)16. Craig Cook (UK)17. Richard Lawson (UK)18. Lewis Bridger (UK)

Ned Kelly 41
I suspect Theo Pipjer will qualify. Tobi Kroner will also rattle a few. It isn't cut and/or dried! Edited May 23, 2014 by Ned Kelly
screm
As the FIM Grand Prix Challenge event on June 7th is not a Berwick Bandits promotion, we are advised by the BSPA that credit and/or debit cards cannot be accepted at the turnstiles on that evening.Cash only at the turnstiles on June 7th, please! However, cards WILL be acceptable at the Track Shop as usual. screm
CHRIS Harris and Craig Cook launch their World Championship qualifying programme at Berwick on Saturday June 7.Current Grand Prix rider Harris is looking to retain his place in the series for 2014 whilst Cook, who has made great strides in recent years, wants to establish himself on the international stage.Should the duo qualify from the Shielfield Park event, they will be just one meeting away from the Grand Prix Challenge which this year takes place at Italian venue Lonigo.Berwick will also welcome Poole’s Polish duo Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Maciej Janowski , and the line-up also includes top Danes Hans Andersen and Kenneth Bjerre, whilst Czech Republic rider Matej Kus will compete on his home circuit.Josh Grajczonek makes it three Pirates riders in the field and former Rye House and Peterborough star Linus Sundstrom is also included along with Leicester No.1 Jason Doyle.Berwick have confirmed special arrangements have been put in place for the event, with turnstiles open from 5pm ahead of the start of the meeting at 7pm. There will be additional catering and sales-points installed around the stadium. It has also been confirmed that the public will be permitted access to official practice earlier in the day. Doors will be open from 11.45am until 2pm, with the riders on-track for one hour from 12.30.Berwick bosses are delighted to have stepped in to stage the event after problems with the previous venue in Austria, and they expect it to provide a major boost to the local area too.Director George Hepburn said: “Last season when we staged the World U-21 Final there were visitors here from Latvia, the Czech Republic, Denmark and, notably, Poland.“Local businesses, hotels and the like reported a really impressive boom in business over that weekend, and with eleven nations to be represented here on June 7, an even greater influx of visitors has to be expected this time around.”LINE-UP: 1. Chris Harris (GB), 2. Jason Doyle (Australia), 3. Mathieu Tressarrieu (France), 4. Roland Benko (Hungary), 5. Tobias Kroner (Germany), 6. Kenneth Bjerre (Denmark), 7. Josh Grajczonek (Australia), 8. Maciej Janowski (Poland), 9. Linus Sundstrom (Sweden), 10. Tomas Suchanek (Czech Republic), 11. Matej Kus (Czech Republic), 12. Hans Andersen (Denmark), 13. Daniel Garrmaier (Austria), 14. Przemyslaw Pawlicki (Poland), 15. Theo Pijper (France), 16. Craig Cook (GB). Reserves: 17. Richard Lawson (GB) 18. Lewis Bridger (GB). For the ones who are bothered, this fine piece of work was taking from the good people on the BSPA site, and a fine piece of work it is to.
