Gp Qualifier Sat June 7th @ Berwick

Recommended Posts

Enjoyed the meeting tonight, even if the track was a bit slick, but understandable, given that rain was forecast, so it made sense not to put a whole lot of dirt on the track. Great to see riders of that standard, despite all the hardship caused by Saturday I would definitely like to see more FIM meetings at Berwick in the future. If it had been a fine day on Saturday all would have passed off okay. Great to see David through to the next round, but will miss him for the Redcar match. Good crowd as well for a Monday night.

Decent meeting, infront of a very impressive Monday night crowd. Passing was at a premium on an ultra slick track, Sundstrum was a worthy winner, good to see Bellego going through to the next round though this will mean he misses our meeting with Redcar.

MJJ hasn't qualified for the GP qualifiers next round so that's a big bonus for the Bee's.

As you posted yesterday, form is temporary class is permanent.

It is the EL league sides that are coming off the worst it in. It would be such a shame With the posibility of 7 riders missing from one race. They will be very hard going for the teams to cover these places.

7 riders missing from one race? Perhaps we should go back to the good old days, with just four riders in a race!!!

The next meetings are on Saturday 21st in Poland and Croatia.

Hopefully, the riders will be able to fly out on Saturday morning but its a big ask.

It would be a real shame if this meeting, one of the highlights of the season, turns into a watered-down farce.

Surprised this hasn't been allocated as a Sky meeting. Sky have no meeting scheduled for w/c 23rd June. Perhaps we can hope this will be televised on Sky instead and moved to the Monday.

Depends when the practice is. It might be Friday and even then depends, if it is Saturday practice, at what time.

Will Berwick be allowed a guest for Bellego?

No. R/R (unless 2 or more of the 1-5 are missing). Only allowed a guest for ACU riders in FIM meetings.

Looked superb deserving winner.

He was indeed. Despite slicker conditions that norm at Berwick (no doubt wary of the weather) this was very enjoyable. Fast racing with many races featuring the riders being very close together and a usual Berwick neat and professional presentation. The stadium looked good again as did the football pitch. I saw the Jury President checking out the grass at one point, he must have been impressed.

Interesting document from the Polish extraleague authorities dated Saturday 7th June -amongst which it states that the Polish league matches between

Tarnow v Wroclaw andTorun v Leszno will be postponed if the Berwick staged GP qualifier is rained off and re-staged on Sunday 8th.

It also lists the matches that would be called off if the Ljubljania meeting was delayed from Saturday to Sunday.

I think this proves that even the polish league authorities didn`t know that the 1st rain-off date at Berwick was spurious.

One of the practices is 10am, the other meeting its 1pm so guess it may depend on the draw

Practice was not mandatory at Berwick on Saturday, riders could do it or not. If not practising, they didn't have to sign in until 5pm.

Riders don't even have to attend practice for GPs. The Friday 20th meetings at Coventry, Lakeside and Edinburgh, all with qualified riders, will be fine.

Who will be the two seeded riders to the semi finals, Palvic will probably be in Croatia but what about Czestochowa?

I think originally the Polish authorities had placed Protasiewicz as the wild card but not sure now after his accident on Sunday in Gdansk where he was knocked out and also injured his sholder
