Gp Qualifier Sat June 7th @ Berwick

Recommended Posts

is there a live stream to be made available ?. the other meeting in Slovenia is on a stream.

Saw nothing about live streaming of this meeting, maybe it will be shown on the FIM site. I think I`m right in saying last years Under-21 Final was shown on that site though it might not have been live.

CHRIS Harris and Craig Cook launch their World Championship qualifying programme at Berwick on Saturday June 7.

Current Grand Prix rider Harris is looking to retain his place in the series for 2014 whilst Cook, who has made great strides in recent years, wants to establish himself on the international stage.

Should the duo qualify from the Shielfield Park event, they will be just one meeting away from the Grand Prix Challenge which this year takes place at Italian venue Lonigo.

Berwick will also welcome Poole’s Polish duo Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Maciej Janowski , and the line-up also includes top Danes Hans Andersen and Kenneth Bjerre, whilst Czech Republic rider Matej Kus will compete on his home circuit.

Josh Grajczonek makes it three Pirates riders in the field and former Rye House and Peterborough star Linus Sundstrom is also included along with Leicester No.1 Jason Doyle.

Berwick have confirmed special arrangements have been put in place for the event, with turnstiles open from 5pm ahead of the start of the meeting at 7pm. There will be additional catering and sales-points installed around the stadium.

It has also been confirmed that the public will be permitted access to official practice earlier in the day. Doors will be open from 11.45am until 2pm, with the riders on-track for one hour from 12.30.

Berwick bosses are delighted to have stepped in to stage the event after problems with the previous venue in Austria, and they expect it to provide a major boost to the local area too.

Director George Hepburn said: “Last season when we staged the World U-21 Final there were visitors here from Latvia, the Czech Republic, Denmark and, notably, Poland.

“Local businesses, hotels and the like reported a really impressive boom in business over that weekend, and with eleven nations to be represented here on June 7, an even greater influx of visitors has to be expected this time around.”

LINE-UP: 1. Chris Harris (GB), 2. Jason Doyle (Australia), 3. Mathieu Tressarrieu (France), 4. Roland Benko (Hungary), 5. Tobias Kroner (Germany), 6. Kenneth Bjerre (Denmark), 7. Josh Grajczonek (Australia), 8. Maciej Janowski (Poland), 9. Linus Sundstrom (Sweden), 10. Tomas Suchanek (Czech Republic), 11. Matej Kus (Czech Republic), 12. Hans Andersen (Denmark), 13. Daniel Garrmaier (Austria), 14. Przemyslaw Pawlicki (Poland), 15. Theo Pijper (France), 16. Craig Cook (GB). Reserves: 17. Richard Lawson (GB) 18. Lewis Bridger (GB).

I read exactly the same words on the BSPA site. If they copied it from you on here, they don't seem to have given you any writer-credit?

FIM appoint their own sub-contractor to take all TV pictures. This will not be the excellent GRT Media, who are the usual Berwick provider.

It is believed (by Berwick) there won't be any live streaming, but there may be a late decision on this made in Geneva.

Whatever, the question is totally out of Berwick's hands.

Berwick's e-newsletter tonight tells us Josh G is still hoping to race (he sees a specialist tomorrow) but Roland Benko is out.

Former Bandit Norbert Magosi will step in for Hungary.

No reason to believe Magic hasn't recovered. He'll be there!

Magic rode in Poland Sunday (10+3) and is due to ride for Poole tonight - rain permitting.

Josh G really wants to ride Saturday but will take the specialist's advice this morning. Since the operation, he has been treating his face/eye with daily ice packs to reduce the swelling, but the biggest issue is likely to be whether he can get his helmet on!!!!!?

If Josh doesn't make (and everyone must hope he does) the next qualifier from the 2014 Aussie Title series would be Justin Sedgmen.

After him, Mason Campton, Sam Masters and Max Fricke, in that order.

All of whom are based pretty close to Berwick if there was a last-minute call-up.

Sunday is the 1st re-staging day then Monday is the 2nd

With Berwick scheduled to be at Newcastle this Sunday and then Glasgow on Monday, let us all hope we get this meeting on on Saturday.
