Baldy
I think the remedial work Stoke are hoping for is more sunshine, it wont cost them anything. I have respect for MV but for Stoke Speedway to publically say they are trying to get the Track fit for Speedway, then to allow Stocks on said Track, really is treating Speedway supporters as if they are fools, it really wont wash. Do Stoke want Speedway ? then we have the Plymouth situation thats another big cock up down there, in this day and age people just wont put up with it.. Some good questions there. I think the Stoke public do want speedway but not run as present; although I feel it will never get back to the crowds that once went, they were not massive anyway. Some feel that a change of direction in promoters will bring the crowds back. I think not. People have now found other things to do and spend their money on. It will be more than sunshine to get that track...back on track having seen it from a distance. I would not be surprised if there was no speedway at Stoke this year. The track problems look terminal and any good that goes into prep is undone by the stox. Hope I'm wrong.
Mike.Butler
It might be for the best tbh..let the riders go elsewhere to get some meetings..

I have to agree with both posts riders and public deserve better but will never receive it from this promotion, they deserve no support and it is only a matter of when not if it closes for speedway. Neil H
With the encroachment of the industrial units, it the track closes, it could be for good as the site would probably be sold quite easily.
BuxtonTiger
Malcolm, please update us with the track situation. It appears there were Stocks their last Saturday and another fixture due this weekend. Is there any chance of the fixture on the third of May taking place? A further statement is due. Jayne
Not that I'm an expert but I was at the stock car meeting last week and thought the track held up pretty well. I know a lot of work went on last week prior to the stock car meeting to get things right so fingers crossed the problems are sorted.
Stokielee
Seems that Malcolm has gone quiet. Perhaps the water table has now risen to such an extent that his keyboard has become submerged and he is unable to type...
Racin Jason 72
Tbf to Malcolm it's up to the promoters of stoke to tell the public what the latest situation is. On the stoke website it makes no reference to any track work but does say when the next meeting is !! So presumably all is well??? If this meeting is off due to the track rather than the weather then I suggest the promotion should amputate their feet as they have shot themselves in the foot far too many times

Swift Saint
I will be issuing a formal Press Release during the evening setting out where we are and what happens next. However, let me give some reassurance and that is provided that the weather is fit on the day we fully expect to race against Kent at Loomer Road on Saturday 3rd May 2014 and at Buxton in what will now be a League match the following day. I hope that will clarify the situation for the moment and I will issue more details later. Malcolm Vasey Stoke Speedway
