dump that clutch
Good meeting to watch, although shame about the racetrack. Super smooth it wasn't. Felt like i was watching motocross at one point. After watching Milik's first race win i thought he was an accident waiting to happen, he reminded me when Troy was there years ago, so fast out front then crashed at the pit gate. The cynic in me could say if Holder's putting these scores together like last night he'll be slotted in with Darcy... but that'll never happen.........would it. (it is Poole we are talking about).... like i said earlier, good meeeting to watch but on a crap racetrack....
ouch
I like the draft system with young newbies like Kyle Newman performing well. To see him get the better of EL old hand Kyle Howarth showed the merits of the system. Good to see something in speedway that's not tainted by the usual shenanigans especially with Poole involved. fliss44
I hear that all the time from fliss44. Personally I don't know what she sees in him. I do love your sense of humour!!
Reliant Robin
One of the better meetings I've seen from Poole, kept me entertained throughout. I'm quite liking the draft system personally, few crinkles to iron out but hopefully they stick with it. I believe that the draft riders should be allowed to take all 4 of their programmed rides. Good 3 points for Poole, think these fixtures will do Holder some good and glad to see him in Elite League action, even if it is only short term.
Woz01
Just watched last nights meeting, why did Hans sweep across Hansen in 15? It looked like he had the speed to challenge Janowski, oh well. We were a bit unlucky not to get a point with Fishers guaranteed heat win over Grazcjonek ruined by bikes issues, Harris rode well in one heat when he looked for Hans when a first heat victory was on the cards, shame the rest wasnt the same. Still a lot to look forward to this season for us Bees fans. Oh and Hansen was superb!

If he struggles and the lesser of the 2 Pawlickis does as well then we still yet see Holder and Ward in the same team. Poole realised last season that you only have to be the stronger side going into the play offs to win the league. No point being miles clear in the league this early as other sides can make changes and have a stronger 1-7 come play off time. Poole were shocking early last season along with Peterborough but come play off time those were easily the strongest 2 teams in the league. I believe that the draft riders should be allowed to take all 4 of their programmed rides. You can't be saying that as a Robins fan, you should be moaning and groaning about it like most of the others I agree about each reserve having four rides, those who only get three are having their development stunted and it plays into the hands of those sides with one strong reserve. Shovvy commented that Poole were under par, well Coventry were too with Harris & Garrity (and possibly Hans) all scoring less than you would expect. I think the Bees deserved a point but credit to Poole for doing the business in the last two heats. Edited April 15, 2014 by Bagpuss
salty
So did Ronnie Russell do the track or not? Shovvy says Yes. Starry says No. As neither of those two are ever wrong is there a third explanation for the ubiquitous presence of the man with the Sadim touch at every Sky meeting? Was this the real reason for the long wait to confirm the new TV deal? Sky "We'll give you half of diddlysquat and no more" TR "what about half of diddlysquat with a smidgeon more and I'll throw in a Zelig like jack of all trades to make sure all goes tickety-boo" Sky " Done. See you at Brandon for the ELRC on any date that doesn't suit "

Guest GiveusaB
Great match....great racing from riders that I least expected ?.....Newman/Howarth/Hansen absolutely superb ! The future of young British talent may not be that bad afterall.....
rhidassa
You're not Nigel Pearson are you? Several times last night he was shouting as if the draft riders didn't exist before! We've already seen with the new EL race format that reserves can top score based primarily on beating fellow reserves - it remains to be seen how much they improve as a result. If the better reserves keep getting high scores and end up with a high average, what happens next season for them? I particularly enjoyed the commentary saying about British youngsters battling it out in front... when it was the reserves race.

Think they have already mentioned they will be re-assessed next season but i don't believe averages attained for this season will count for next either.

That means Garrity would be on an E/L average of about 2.00 for next season! Edited April 15, 2014 by Flyin Panther

Let's not get too carried away, Newman only beat KH and the reserves. FYI - Newman is older and been riding longer than 'old hand' Howarth, who has also progressed much quicker.

If new foreigners like Milik can still come in on a 4 assessed there is no way a Brit should have a PL/NL converted average over 4.

Do you follow speedway or check facts before you are posting? Newman is older than Howarth and has been riding longer. Howarth is in an elite league main body and Newman isnt so i think its fair to say Howarth is the better rider
foreverblue
Decent meeting and some really good racing but they have had all off season to sort the track out and its still terrible, cost us points and made it more difficult than it should have been. Newman and janowski were superb and Milik looks a good find, Shamek had a bad one but we all know he is much better than that and Holder was a bit wary of the track and obviously didn't want to risk too much after Hans left him no room having just come back from serious injury.
blueherb777
Enjoyed the meeting. Some good close racing and GREAT to see some BRITISH youngsters shining. Have to say that if Anderson/Harris performed better it would have been very close and I cannot see much difference between both teams. And the SKY coverage seemed much better/slicker than we have seen before.
