Berwick V Glasgow (lc) Saturday, April 12th

Disagree with you on Matej Kus, he will come good, if Matej & Mathew hadn't got in each others way probably would have been a higher score for him.

You cannot really speculate on a loan transfer.

Can you really argue that hes absolutely useless unless he makes the gate though? He may come good and i hope he does, I cant see it personally.

I think with Matejs racing style it will take a few more weeks for his all action style to blend in with the track. It took pepe a season to sort his set up its only matejs 5th meeting at berwick... hell be unstoppable especially with the bandits fans cheering his name stood too attention

To be fair to Matejs, who I have regularly criticised in the past, I have seen him in Saturday Redcar practice sessions, in two second halfs at Brough and one at Redcar, so he is definately desperate to get some track time in. He can look really classy on track, so I hope he gets back to where he was a few years ago.

He has signed for Gniezno in Poland but hasn't yet featured and the Czech league has yet to start, so track time has been limited to this country where of course Berwick have already lost two meetings to the weather.

His scoring has not been anything to write home about so far, but he is capable of more, hopefully that will happen soon.

Berwick would rather spend money on garbage like Kus on a two year deal, an even bigger gating tart than Pepe Franc.

3 seasons at Redcar with no real improvement. Also who could forget his guest booking for Berwick at home against Edinburgh when his rubbish score which cost Berwick the win. Poor signing.

Not in 2005 they didn't!

What did we win in 2005.i would suggest that there was a bigger Home support for the Bandits than there is now, possibly due to the financial climate.Everyone seems keen to justify not signing expensive riders which is fair enough but all I am saying is that winning team will keep interest on the terracing.

what we win.? If that the crowds were atrocious that year what do we call them now.wait till beginning of season local matches finish and then see what crowd levels are now.We were challenging for 2nd place for most of the season Rye House were runaway winners.

If my memory is right, we were top of the league up until the start of September... Rye surprisingly won at Exeter which swung things in their favour... We had lost at Workington and Sheffield which finished us off... Rye only won the league by 4 points in the end!

15 Newport 28 4 1 9 1 0 13 1097 1482 2 1

Hardly runaway winners, although I agree that towards the end of that season it was likely Rye House were going to be Champions, but Berwick put on a creditable challenge and ended up second, a second place that is a million miles away right now.

Fair point but Kus guested the season before at Shielfield and scored double figures.

IMO its a tad unfair to be having a go at Kus, I agree he needs to be scoring more but looking at last Saturday night, it cant be acceptable that a No1 is only scoring 3pts at home.

when we lost at Newport in August (where virtually everybody else won )that was effectively it over.We won at Exeter the next night and speaking to Peter in the pits after the match he was convinced that we still had a chance (optimistic as ever).Rye already had the away wins in the bag.The original point was a winning team keeps the crowds happy and maybe increases them, one thing is certain a losing Team has an adverse effect on the crowd.

We were challenging for the title right up to the end.

The crowds were atrocious that year.

I remember the crowds being poorer in 2005, I would say they were about where they have been for the last 2 seasons. It brings up the arguament that attendancies should be recorded as they are in Poland and football in the UK. We could then argue without conjecture because the statistics would be available.

My recollection was it was a close call for the top, then we lost Michal Makovsky and Tom P Madsen to injury right at the end.

Can you really argue that hes absolutely useless unless he makes the gate though? He may come good and i hope he does, I cant see it personally.

I will argue, he certainly is not useless, he may not be a No1 but should make a good heat leader at Berwick. I do believe his head is in a much better place, and you will see a definate improvement.

I think he will Dave,
