coomie
We will need 3 points from this to catch Plymouth, even if we get 3 on Friday, not going to be easy that
Najjer
With two former Rockets in the side and Todd Kurtz, Nick Morris and Charles who all scored well for us there last year, aswell as Brady and Starke who have been brilliant so far we must fancy our chances after Rye's defeat last week. Gutted I will be missing this one, thoroughully enjoyed my visit last year.

Dave Stummings
More to the point, will the fish & chips be any better? After last week’s performance, can’t see anything other than a Rye House loss here, especially as there is no Jason Garrity. Somerset could win by 10 plus after last week’s performance. The Rockets have an outstanding number 1 at this level in Eddie Kennett. But there seems to be little or no back-up as such. Are we continually going to hear the lamb excuses from Hinge & Bracket [silver & Sampford] about this rider had that problem, that rider something else? As for the fish ’n chips, they are awful. I made the mistake of buying some last week and I have to say they were awful. Will be either eating beforehand or taken sandwiches, won’t be eating at Rye House again, think many other people will be thinking the same. It’s been the fish bar I recon that’s kept Rye House going over the years along with alcohol bar. But what a joke, the drinks bars that only sell tins, now an awful fish bar, crappiest PA system ever, stale presentation, do I need go on……. Dave Stummings
Press release makes it sound very iffy Quote The Silver Ski Rockets may yet be forced to return to the Rider-Replacement facility for Saturday’s home League Cup fixture against Somerset. Having operated the facility to cover Jason Bunyan’s absence due his Grand Prix Wildcard spot, the Rockets had hoped that the captain’s return would give them a full strength team for the first time in 2014. It has now become evident, however, that Jason Garrity – who returned from injury last night in a Fast-Track Elite League role for Coventry at Birmingham – may well have done so prematurely. Team manager John Sampford is therefore quickly re-formulating his game plan to provisionally employ the Rider-Replacement option should the 20 year old be unfit to take his place against the Rebels. As he himself admits, “It is not ideal by any means, but it is our only option. There are not many riders like Jason, who are capable of producing scores that are radically different to their average, so we are now praying that he will be fit enough to ride.”
Oafski
I see the much maligned Simon Lambert scored 5+1 for Birmingham last night, so perhaps He might lift his home game to become The Rockets Saviour on the night. I hope that my feelings that Mr G might be more focused on His performances for Coventry Bees than the Rockets are unfounded. I still think this year could be another 2005 if we can get all seven riders on track and scoring points.
bolly
Reported on twitter this morning that Jason Garrity has reported ready to race tonight for Coventry (Friday). Rye House are expecting to have R/R in place of injured Jason Garrity tomorrow night (Saturday). One has to wonder about his priorities and willingness to ride for Rye House ???? He beat Starke & Searjeant in heat 9. Apart from that finished ahead of riders that either fell or retired. Based on what I've been told, Garrity doesn't even want to be at the club Edited April 11, 2014 by Shadders

I still think this year could be another 2005 if we can get all seven riders on track and scoring points.A lot of the riders that Simon will race against for Birmingham are not going to be as strong as many of the PL reserves. I think Simon will be ok at Birmingham, a brilliant signing for Kent but won't cut the mustard at Rye. Luke already taking on too much responsibility with seven rides the norm, we simply cannot carry a reserve and utilise RR at the same time. On paper we look rubbish but in reality with everyone firing we are easily capable of a playoff place, that said everyone must be firing and Boxall and Garrity needing to put two points per head onto their averages. Well given what he said pre season Garrity is proving a liability, he is clearly more interested in the EL than Rye and is rapidly turning into a waste of space, and Boxall who started like a train is clearly reliant on fast machinery and seemed well down on power last week. Seems to me we got a couple of things right in a very good no1 and Luke at reserve. Other than that its business as usual ala the last few seasons and what a terrible decision dumping Pontus Aspgren seems to have been i have seen him twice and he was flying both times. If Somerset don't stuff us tomorrow i think Ipswich certainly will next week. I'm normally overly positive but after the two Plymouth meetings something will need to be done

Shadders
As mentioned by WHB amongst others, Simon Lamberts retention has been a mistake. Nothing against the man, I'm sure he's a lovely bloke. It's been mentioned that he's great around the pits, offering advice and helping out the other riders. That's great for team spirit, but useless when he's not scoring points. I hope he can turn it around and be our match winner tomorrow, but I fear another beating along with a few more this year, home and away. Shadders
Why the change in Garrity?? He was really happy at Rye last year! Whats changedWho knows? Rumours that he refused to sign his contract at P & P, but relented when he was told that he rides for Rye, or doesn't ride at all. Maybe the terms had changed, maybe he thinks he deserves more. Who knows? Like I said, just rumours. Up to JG himself to come out and say he's happy at Rye (or not). Up until then we can only speculate. Rayleigh
Would Peterborough fancy him on his very large 5.45 point average but there again there is no synergy between Coventry and Peterborough. Fortunately, speedway is run on "gentlemans word" honour and any such behaviour would be more at home in football.
