Cradley V Kings Lynn - Nl Sheild (08/04/14)

With the Heathens at full strength I'm hoping for a 14 point lead to take to the Far East.

As Ommer Um says it could well be close over the two legs as we aim to make it four Shields in a row.

Hope Greavsie has a good night. He had wretched luck last week against the Storm. Whatever he does tonight I do expect him to score well at Lynn as the track suits his style much better.

PS Hope Darryl will be on the mend soon. I was so sorry to hear about his accident last week. Fingers crossed for a quick and full recovery.

One thing you can't take away from the CH fans is the support your riders get through good times and bad and that is so refreshing in this day and age

Did not expect that, really thought we would win around 12-18 points but it ended up an Ommering. R/R really did effect KL from the off but nothing could stop the force that came in 7 waves over 15 heats! Only 1 heat where a Heathen didnt win and no last places!

Well done, a real statment to the rest of the league!

No statement needed once the Heathens had named their side, they look head and shoulders above everyone except perhaps Mildenhall. It's a shame they aren't in the PL as I think they could have a good go at winning that.

Tough lesson for the Young Stars, you'd expect far more from the four experienced team members but more importantly it's good experience for Lewis ahead of visiting Wolves on Monday and for young Josh generally.

I really dont know why, but if memory serves me right, when the Young Stars came to Monmore early last season, they put in a dissapointing performance then also, as has already been commented on, Mallett, Cockle, Hughes, and to a lesser extent Rose and even Campos, now not meaning to knock the lad, but how many years has Scott Campos been around now ? still only a number 7 and none from five tonight, I would have thought there are better prospects out there. Josh Bailey is certainly one for the future.

This was born out by the presentation to each Cradley rider tonight before the parade of £200 Donated to them by The Daughter of a recently passed away Cradley fan who spent many happy times watching Teams get Ommered, Then last week before the Storm meeting, all the kids got a free flag, its gestures like this which make TheTeam/Club what it is.

I really think that the Young Star need to strenghten up!!,maybe add one more experienced rider to the line up,results like this will soon destroy confidence with the young lads in the team like Campos,Hughes etc , not good for anyone

I know that when as team like this travels around the country crowds will suffer, when they visit my club i will stay away

Please as some experience to this team for the good of the league,:wink::cry::nono::wink::o:P

Didn't see this result coming.Just underlines how strong the CH team is.Kings Lynn have put together a solid side who I'd expect to be challenging.See why CH are favourites for the league and everything else.Impressive.Won't be many,if any teams get close to them this season.

That Heathens side looks awesome. Can see a lot of 5-1 Heats for them around Monmore this season. Will fans lap that up or have they built their side to strong for this League ? Didnt quite understand why Cradley didnt move up a League, surely that would have offered the fans more entertainment than they are likely to see in The National League this season.

To be fair that team probably wouldn't do much in the PL and maybe they don't want to get into paying airfares, accommodation and vans for riders and would the supporters go for £15.00 a meeting? If they kick on this season maybe they could join this year and just have to add a number 1. I do hope so

Did I say a 14 point win - I really meant 40!

To be serious though, I didn't see that coming. If I can say one thing in defence of the Young Stars it would be that five of the Heathens have already benefited from riding a number of fixtures at a higher level and that really seems to have rubbed off. Perhaps some of the Young Stars are still a bit rusty after the winter and will improve as they get more fixures in. I certainly hope so. Josh Bailey in particular shouldn't be disappointed. He looks a promising prospect.

I think we could see quite a gap emerging in the NL between the riders who are doubling up and those who are not.

The Heathens were 'awesome' from 1-7 last night and you can't argue that they are not worthy of places in the Elite League draft. I am sure that some of these lads will be Elite League regulars in a couple of years.

Roll on Scunthorpe on Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that meeting could prove an embarassment for the sport.

Anybody need a calculator?

Interesting to know if you and any other (not only Cradley) fans enjoy this sort of "entertainment" where teams rack up 60/70 points against other teams?.

Nope, neither as a Cradley or Speedway fan in general, its okay as an occasional event, but week in week out its not for me, i have reguarly been calling for a drop in the points limit to 36, i think it has to be reduced and possibly by even more, to try to get a more even balance between NL Teams, and there could even be a possible case for introducing a draft for 3 point reserve positions, similar to the EL.

Maybe the Cradley fans will praying for their riders to miss the gate within a few weeks.

They were missing the gate last night just some how were passing the YS if you read the updates. How it happened is a mystery Particularly Rose and Hughes
