April 26: European Fim Speedway Grand Prix (bydgoszcz, Poland)

Looking like Tai was a one season wonder - shame really! He needs to up his game

Perhaps a bit too early to judge him? Besides looking back the past 10 years or so, it haven't been many cases of the defending champion winning the title again.

Why?

Why should he give the effectively 'terrorist' One Sport any publicity?

You sound as mad as the loony with all the names.

One would almost think you have some kind of agenda here :)

Bit of sanity here nobody is effectively a terrorist and I would imagine the Polish fans are perfectly capable of making up their minds about attending a speedway meeting. They choose not to attend this one. It's up to both parties to sort their mess out and nothing to do with the fans or the commentators who are just innocent parties caught in the middle of this daft nonsense.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter, i certainly like more quality speedway being available

Your post makes zero sense when we have, as a result of One Sports takeover attempts the GP field split.. with two of the best and most exciting riders out of the series.

We as fans are suffering.

The Gp series only have themselves to blame.

Where are the MJJ's, Laguta's, Dudek's and Pawlicki's

Stale crap Is boring

BSI only have themselves to blame, If they paid riders properly then there would be no issue

He's clearly lacking confidence for some reason, he's backed out of the first lap battle in both of his rides tonight, the real Tai Woffinden would never do that. Hope he can overcome it soon.

Regarding Smolinski, did I hear Nige say that he had a button for his ignition in New Zealand? If so then surely he should be excluded from the result and his points deducted? If it's a clear technical regulation that is, which it must be if he's been told to take it off?

2 rides and 2 lasts? He's even behind Bomber at this point. He may go out and get 3 wins (and I hope he does) but not looking likely

Of course.

And no doubt you believe Emil isn't riding because he can't afford it too :t:

Smolinski has some sort of controlled ignition available (and not disallowed) in NZ but did not use it and his bike were checked and nothing compromising was found.

It was a loop hole that the FIM have fixed now by banning controlled ignition.

No I meant for the entire season, a bit to early to jump the conclusions for the entire season already.

No I don't because I am not an idiot. But I am not the one accusing people of terrorism :)

Something seriously wrong with Tai even Bomber has a point

So why isn't he riding then?

If it's due to OneSport instructing/paying him not too, that's essentially a terrorist act to destabilise the GP's.

Woffinden's bikes are simply nowhere near quick enough.. I called this before the season started.

Three riders on 5 points battling for the last two cut-off places, so not too many out of the running. Speaking of which Wounded Woffinden and Hapless Harris on 1 point apiece.

Not being Emil I can't speak for him but your post makes some pretty major accusations/insinuations there old son.

Wonder what would happen if the forum loony had made them :(

Yes Woffy has big troubles sad to see that hope he puts it right soon..

says so much about Tai's start to the year...

loved watching bomber over the years....

truly sad tonight to watch him...

his gating is nothing more than an embarrassment at this level and where he used to make 'magic happen' he now looks like someone hopelessly out of his depth when he finds himself behind...

very sad.......

let's hope he can get himself in the mix as the season goes by...

NO one can disguise the attendance but it would be foolish to blame it simply on the problems created by the FIM between BSI and OneSport. Foremost the non-appearance of Tomasz Gollob, still the major drawcard in Poland let alone his home town, is a major factor. And let's not forget that the real reason Gollob isn't riding is because he lost his highly lucrative sponsorship with Monster. And that he wanted an appearance fee to be the wild card tonight.

Speedway in Bydgoszcz is not the crowd puller it once was with the local team no longer in the top flight and league attendances now well under 2,000 apparently. There is also a big basketball (popular in Bydgoszcz) on in the town.

The poor crowd isn't necessarily a reflection on the SGP as a whole and but the series and Polish speedway desperately needs another Gollob. Polish fans are notoriously fickle and demand winners but no matter what the likes of Hampel and Kaspzrak achieve they will never have the charisma and entertainment value of Tomasz.

INCIDENTALLY, I hear that Emil Sayfurdinov is desperately disappointed not to be racing in the SGP and is regretting his (or others) decision not to compete this year.
