BSI are running this themselves. They are renting the track and taking the risk themselves.

Is that a 'one off'??

I read that each location pays BSI an agreed figure and then promotes the event and makes 'what they can' by their capabilities??

NOT really. BSI have various arrangements with different promotions. They co-promote the SGP in Malilla for example.

I am sure the SWC at Bydgoszcz will attract a far bigger attendance and there will be many Polish fans who probably now wish that they went. The Bydgoszcz track lived up to its reputation and there was a succession of fantastic races that even Mr Gollob would have struggled to better.

A good 'diplomatic' answer Philip.... ;)

A great speedway meeting...

Eurosport must be delighted with their investment for a 'minority sport' on a Saturday night.... :t:

Darcy Ward the person is not very nice. Darcy Ward the speedway rider I love. I never know if I should cheer for him or not!

The Darcy Ward that i observed at the Lee Richardson memorial at Arena Essex was a perfect Gentleman signing Autographs and posing for photos unlike his fellow countrymen and all round nice guys Holder and Crump who chose to run through their fans as they couldn't be bothered to stop for five minutes. Unless you actually know someone its impossible to form an opinion of whether they are nice or not surely. On track i agree he is the best rider in the world by a very long way.

That was a privilege to watch.

What a great sport we follow.

Great coverage from Eurosport too, with Scott Nicholls and the presenter doing a very good job anchoring it.

So refreshing to get away from the inter team rivalry and just sit and enjoy riders giving everything on a wonderful racing strip in very tricky conditions.

Hancock overtaking Ward. KK nipping inside on the final bend.

You couldn't make it up

He didn`t do much for us but hey I don`t hold grudges, well done to Kasprzak he fully deserved his win, a lesser rider would have given up when Ward sailed past but Kasprzak kept on to the end and for me averted a nightmare. Am thinking Kasprzak could be World Champion 2014..........

Speedway in Bydgoszcz is not the crowd puller it once was with the local team no longer in the top flight and league attendances now well under 2,000 apparently. There is also a big basketball (popular in Bydgoszcz) on in the town.

>

INCIDENTALLY, I hear that Emil Sayfurdinov is desperately disappointed not to be racing in the SGP and is regretting his (or others) decision not to compete this year.

I would argue that the SGP is no longer the crowd puller it once was. BTW where did you hear about Bydgoszcz basketball team as a crowd puller

Sayfutdinov's is disappointed you say? First time I hear that. Daria on Polish TV asked him straight whether he is disppointed, or not. And he answered that he is not.

So your story is just not true.

And are never satisfied...

That was a great meeting, passing in almost every race, if the rest of the series matches up to the first 2 rounds I'll be happy.

2000 tickets sold so far which according to the local promoters is pretty much par. But with no Gollob or Sayfutdinov and neither Hampel or Kaspzrak being great draws even in Poland a full house appears a distant dream.

Think we all knew from the advance ticket sales Phil that something was amiss here and was not the "pretty much par" that you described.I think you and the rest of the speedway world know the reason for a one off pitiful attendance in Poland has everything to do with the politics that exist between,FIM,OneSport and BSI and not the non appearance of a Polish rider.Pretending to look the other way does you a disservice as a journalist.
