Mini Jack
Oh dear. Don't give up the day job will you? Too late, you already have. Still, at least you were there to witness the match, weren't you? Looks like you Cycled there too. I await with interest the number of excuses you come up with after this one. Wrong I'm afraid. Woz01
The Bees will be stronger when Fisher and Hansen swap places in my opinion. Agree, I think Fisher will be a better number 3 away than Hansen, he has much more experience in Britain.
Guest GiveusaB
From what I saw last night? Howarth and Hansen performed admirably and look set to improve as the season goes on ! We all know that Andersen/Harris/Fisher can be inconsistent (hope that's a fair comment) but if they all click at the same time i.e the play offfs.......then Cov could be the outside bet for the title this season! stevebrum
. If Bomber scores 8 on Friday he achieves his average, I really don't know what people expect from a rider who averages just under 7. This team is going places yet we still have people moaning. We have FIVE points from 2 away meetings, its a good start! But wasn't Bomber signed because he is meant to be on a false average and should easily be meant to raising that starting average? If he was doing his job the GP rider would be winning the odd race (at minimum) and that alone would have made the narrow defeat into a winning one. If Harris cant raise his game and average you can as good as discount the Bees out of a potential top 4 spot IMHO. In any winning team you are looking for key riders to raise there average. Howarth and Fisher are proving more than up to the job and Sarjeant made up for the loss in points by Garrity to some extent. Your heat leaders (against one of the weakest top 5`s in the league) should have been scoring more points. I diagree. Making up new words now?
kingbee
Harris was signed because of his average some thought was false .I don't think it is false that is his level fans were talking about 8+average this season no way will he get that I would say now a good second string at best

He really shouldn't be struggling to match an 8 point average season on season, such is his experience now. I like Bomber, i rate him. But his downward spiral is baffling to say the least. TesarRacing
I think it's a bit early to be talking about a downward spiral for this season at any rate, after 2 meetings a guest appearance, Steve. Let's judge him after at least a couple of months into the season. Like you, I sincerely hope he regains the form we know he is capable of. I did some looking around and Harris has the top 2 scores riding in the number 5 position away from home, guesting for Wolves and last night. Away number 5s have struggled so far. The extra point could come in useful if injures play a part, much more scope for replacements.

I fail to see why he should or would struggle. I know he is because last year was dreadful and this year so far has been average but he is better than a sub 7 point rider. Steve hasHarris ever been a number 1 rider as we know them No but has every one keeps telling me he is a GP class rider he should be beating the top riders or are you agreeing with me he is not a top class rider anymore The quoted post below answers your question so yes he has. Depends on your definition of class. When he rides for GB in the World Cup generally is he not a class rider that is quite capable of beating anyone. He is looking anything but a class rider so far this year but i believe he more than has the ability to get back to where he was in terms of achieving a high EL average. Harris HAS been in the top 10 of the averages. In a 10 team league that makes you a number 1 pretty much. I thought he had.
P T Preece
Well that was tight, dont want to many of those, all the riders upped there game, got what I expect from kennett two good rides on the night, Barker is a worry, world class in the 5 race, flapping about at the back in the others, needs to get back to the form he has shown over the last couple of years. Good racing, good night and nail biting finish, so glad we have won at least once and now onto Lakeside, what do you reckon all 4 points and first away win. See you there people. Ben doesn't seem to be the dominate force in the Premier League at the moment either that he was in the past.
Gemini
Probably going the usual way of the Brits - with one or two exceptions - reach a certain level, stagnate and then go backwards into oblivion.
manchesterpaul
Did either or both of you go (did anyone go!) how large/small was the crowd in comparison to the disastrous last meeting and last season? Nor sure if anyone did go seeing as there has been zero response to the crowd question. I noticed Alan Phillips said in the Birmingham Mail ahead of the match “It’s a big night and I would like to see the place packed to show support for the lads. It’s been a tough start but let’s just see if we can turn it around.” I'm guessing he sadly did not get his wish?

It did appear to be swelled out by quite a few travelling Cov fans. I'm guessing it would have been about the size of the later years in the premier league, it most certainly wasn't packed out.
