Star Lady
Hall says it's a high adrenaline sport, which it is. It's also a sport that requires split second decisions. Therefore I would have to question the sense of any rider who "loses it" in the heat of the moment being granted a licence.

gmmodified
You mean Hall ran wide...Auty passed him and Hall jumped off Today was 4 riders going for it on first bend,Auty and Hall came together and that was it,,,Im all for rider adding a bit of entertainment with a few handbags, all good fun,but to walk up and kick someone when laid out on track I pain is below the belt Even more so with what had happened last Thursday with Anders Mellgren <attempt to get round swear filter removed> No way!Hall was in front and on the racing line, Auty attempted a dive bomb and couldnt control it, pretty reckless! dont know where you were standing but i had a perfect view. BWitcher
To be fair, I don't think he is. He did something in the heat of the moment (which we are all capable of) and while I accept the serious nature of what he did I think that apology is sincere and he's not known for such behaviour. I'd give him a warning and leave it at that. Regardless of heat of the moment he did it. That is no excuse.
Gavan
Were you at Workington the meeting Auty made one of his "racing moves" on Kenny Ingalls ??? . Mmmmmm I suggest not . It sickened me to the stomach to see Kenny laid out on the track and his injuries have ended his career. So sorry but to me that is not excitement , but whatever floats your boat . What Hall did was unacceptable but Auty is by no way an Angel in all of this . Punish them both they BOTH deserve it . i dont like to tar Workington fans with the same brush but 2 of you now have come up with absurd statements

semion
Hall acknowledges he was in the wrong, so presumably will take the punishment he is given without any comeback. Speedway is a supposedly a family sport, so we should expect the BSPA to hand out the right ban and fine that a charge of common assault carries.
Halifaxtiger
Regardless of heat of the moment he did it. That is no excuse. I'm not excusing him. I was there yesterday and saw what happened - indeed, I suspect most knew of it because I mentioned the incident while texting for the updates site. I described it as 'sickening' earlier and said that I didn't want to see it again. I see no reason to change that opinion. However, the law makes a clear distinction between cold blooded actions and those that are spur of the moment reactions and I think that should be taken into account when/if Hall is punished, because I happen to believe that his apology is sincere and genuine.

His apology certainly read that way HT. I agree with you.
Dekker
Godfey added: "Josh is Mr Entertainment and some people don't like his riding but he is a racer and that is what we want." No he is dangerous, gets frustrated and pushes beyond his ability.
speedwaysliders
Its good to see Richard make that statement after he calmed down, like others have said im all for a bit of banter and hand bags from riders, but this went way over the limits.Richard said his actions were totally out of character, but didnt here try and get Mark lemon after he knock him off in his epic efforts for Peterbourgh to win the league.I think it took about 3 people to stop him running back to the pits to have a word with Mr Lemon!!! sidewinder
I wonder, if anyone remembers an incident, in a Scunthorpe/Sheffield match, on August bank holiday Monday 2010. A bitterly fought contest, with many incidents. One which stands out in my memory, concerned Richard Hall. He had been involved in a crash, with another rider and I believe (if memory serves), he was excluded. On the way through the pits gate, was Viktor Bergstrom, (I think it was him), as RH came through he ran into Viktor, hitting him in the legs and he went down in a heap. From my view point directly behind, he changed direction, to deliberately make contact. On the evidence of what I saw, nothing would convince me otherwise. I could not believe more was not made of this at the time, it was one of the most cynical actions I have seen in 50 years of speedway. That is probably to the credit of the victim who did not make a big deal of the incident. Safe to say, I have never been a fan of RH ever since. I'd be amazed if nobody else saw it or remembered it. Jonny the spud
How can anyone believe the evidence of what you think you saw 4 years ago when it's peppered with " I believe" , "if my memory serves" and " I think it was him" ?? Yeah, that's a reliable account of what happened.
Yearbyred
30 day ban for Richard Hall apparently. Not sure where this leaves the Bears in terms of replacing him.

Yeah, that's a reliable account of what happened. What is reliable is that it was Richard Hall on the bike, who flattened a Scunthorpe rider, stood at the gate. I am not a scunny supporter, in fact I am a bears fan.
