Redcar Bear V Scunthorpe Scorpions Lc 3/4/14

Recommended Posts

Grey and pretty misty here at the moment - forecast doesn't look too bad so hopefully it's all systems go this week. Will keep weather updated if i can though.

On track, really not sure what the result will be! Lawson has been in superb form, and Wilko has had a decent start as well but need the likes of Graversen to step up. Hopefully getting a home meeting under their belt will help them out.

Scunny look very solid - Douglas has gone very well here in the past. Hoping for a narrow Bears win, but in truth any result is possible here I think.

First of all, hope Anders Mellgren is ok, seemed to take a nasty fall and he sounded in an awful lot of pain.

But I thought Redcar were excellent tonight. Lawson was just absolutely superb. Gated well, and even before he got to the first bend was looking for his teammate every time. Summers was laos superb, did well in his last two rides to let Lawson sneak through for win. Biggest plus for me were the 2 reserves. Graversen had a great night, and rode pretty hard as well - whilst I thought Crang had an excellent home debut.

Was slightly disappointed in Scunthorpe, and think Douglas must have ridden over many black cats on his way to the track.

Didnt have a clear view of heat 1 crash, but thought Auty was very very unlucky to be excluded in heat 9 - i didnt think he touched Hall.

I know you can only beat whats out there, but hopefully brings a little bit more optimism back, certainly for home meetings.

Would also say that I thought the track was excellent tonight. Very smooth, and provided some lines to pass on.

 Didn't see that one coming, Redcar that good or Scunthorpe that bad?

A bit of A and a bit of B i think. Obviously losing Mellgren hit the Scorps, but at the same time expected more from the likes of Auty tonight.

Bears just gated better tonight, and looked quick.

I'll be interested to see how Redcar do at Scunny tomorrow. Pretty sure most of the Recar team could all score points at EWR

Poor night for The Scorpions, didn't see that result coming to be honest. Big improvement required. Well done Redcar, sounds like your 1-7 all rode extremely well and took advantage of Scunnies misfortune.

I know it wouldn't of made much difference to the score tonight... but why oh why, for the good of speedway.... why can't the R/R rule be utilised when a No1 gets injured in his first ride?. Expecting the reserves to carry a No1 is a big ask. It gets talked about a lot but has the rule ever been considered by the powers that be?

The rule is in place this year in the EL.
