Paulco
So the Monarchs bring a 14 point lead along the M8 from Smugville . Not sure if you still get the big spring in the plank of wood for winning this , or a blow up model with a strange facial expression . Anyway 14 points to peg back is doable if we have blown all the cobwebs away after our opening two fixtures . These were the line ups in Smugville last night , so i presume we'll stick to it . Glasgow Smugbusters Tigers 1 Kevin Wolbert 2 Mark Lemon 3 Theo " thank god i'm a Tiger again " Pijper 4 Dimitri Berge 5 Rusty Harrison 6 Kasper Lykke Nielsen 7 Anders Thomsen THEM 1 The Blessed Cookie 2 Samantha Fox 3 The Golden Child 4 Desperate Deek 5 Sam " i guested for the Tigers once "Masters 6 Justin " so did i " Sedgmen 7 The lesser Worrall Presumably the ref will either be the Grand Monarch or his apprentice and hopefully we do what we did last night and gave all the riders , even Samantha , their programmed rides . Prediction , Glasgow 60 THEM 30 .
Mr Blobby
Tiggers to actual win a match but to lose on Agg. I presume there will be no changes and everyone will get their programmed rides

YAMYAMBANDIT
Hard work with the old foot pump though Could lend you a couple of Berwick fans, plenty of wind from some. Kenny Tait could probably inflate it with on of his gasps

thetiger2799
Think it's time Glasgow ditched Survivors "Eye of the Tiger" and replaced it with Katy Perrys "Roar"
Dekker
Close win for the Tigs as the Tigs reserves should just scrape them the match, interesting to see how Berge n Samantha get on. Hope the sun doesn't affect the track and everyone has an exciting and safe time.

Dekker
Calling Agent Wolbert, Calling Agent Wolbert..... Tigs 43, Mons 47 Bit of a surprise, Glasgow's top end not at its best, Cookie & Stevie Worrall flying. Heard the wheelies at the end were special. Bagpuss
No surprise to me, Embra look a very useful side once again. Can see Worrall having a very good year in all three leagues and Cook should average over eleven with bonuses, won't drop many points at all home or away. SCOTLAND1314
Very enjoyable meeting today. Some really good racing and some magnificent passing and first turn cutbacks. Any truth in the rumour that Glasgow are changing their name to the Glasgow Whales? Because they're often humped. :-)
Mr Blobby
Didn't expect us to wim today but i suppose some things never change another monarchs win at ashfeild! Wolbert - poor Berge - got better as the meeting went on Harrison - rolled back the years today. with some great riding Lemon - Average Pijper - didn't have his best meeting Lykke - done what he was signed to do Thomsen - can't gate t save himself but trys like a bear and rides the fence. very entertaining Mighty monarch/team smug Cook - untouchable Fox - looked good in his first one until went to wide and got passed then after had bike problems (again) for the rest of the meeting Max - looked quick tonight and even made a couple of gates Deek - had a stinker. mainly down to having bike problems all afternoon Masters - very good back up to Cookie this afternoon looked quick in all his races and great first turn in 15 Sedgmen - looked a bit down on pace today apart from the race he won Worrall - fantastic didn't look like getting beat today very quick out of the starts. Unlucky to lose out on his maximum to thomsen on the ling but was a great pass by the dane. Could be the trump card for us this year if he keeps going like that. But on a sour note he wrecked his bike after the race when he crashed into the fence. Was actual some good racing today (i know shock) Harrisons pass around the outside on bends 3/4 on Max and Justin was superb Max looked to his left and didn't realise Rusty was on his outside and by the time he did it was to late. then thomsen on Sedgmen same bend last lap to take third riding around the fence another great ride. the race with Worrall and thomsen was another great race thomsen hunting worrall down for 4 laps then getting him on the run to the line to take the win. Very enjoyable afternoon at ashfeild hopefully more of the same on our next visit. Edited March 30, 2014 by Mr Blobby
george.m
Two excellent derby matches this weekend. Credit to both team's promotions and riders for putting on 30 heats of exciting riding and never say die attitude. Especially when only expenses were paid. Special mention for the Tiger's promotion. Last year was a baptism of fire for all involved. Today there was a breath of fresh air around Ashfield again. Good show! I've always said give me entertainment, and a team of triers and I'm happy. So I'm one happy bunny tonight. The results this weekend are of secondary importance .... unless of course you're trolling on BSF not having made the effort to make a contribution to both promotions air fence costs! After Friday night I was happy with our lower average riders - Berge, Lykke and Thomsen. Tonight I'm absolutely buzzing! Three real triers, each with a never say die attitude. Outside line, inside line, each tried very way to pass an opponent. And didn't give up until the finish line. Prime example being the race of the day with Anders taking Steve Worrall on the line in heat 8. Dimitri looked impressive. Much more controlled than what I'd read on the internet after he signed. Really could be one for the future. Kasper played his part too, and like Friday night all 3 showed no respect, nor fear of opposing reputations. Hopefully they invest a bit of time on their gating skills in the coming weeks. Mind you if they do, we might not be entertained as we have this weekend. Rusty was our most exciting rider by far, taking Fricke and Sedgmen together on the 3rd and 4th bend of heat 12 being the highlight. He and the three youngsters providing the overtaking entertainment today. Great stuff! Rusty was the only one who could keep up with the impressive Craig Cook - having said that, Cook looked like he'd have another gear if anyone came close. Kevin Wolbert looked out sorts, mind you he did on Friday night too - Eurosport failing to deliver their usual entertainment! Theo was Theo, but like all of the Tigers (except Rusty) his gating is the area for improvement after this weekend. Mark Lemon was less impressive than Friday night, though I'm sure improved gating will help. Edinburgh were very impressive again, and look solid throughout, except Aaron Fox. He obviously has the track skills and I'm sure will come good with time. Worall was the surprise packet with 3 wins and a second. If Edinburgh riders keep up this weekends form they will have a strong reserve pairing mid and end season, with Deek no doubt posting a few 14s, 15s and 16s come the business end of the season from number 6 or 7. Masters looked good and worth the 12 month wait, Sedgmen had a good win and no doubt will come good. Back to Mr Cook, he's head and shoulders above anything I've seen in the Premier League for years. Great style, speed and skill - good to watch when Monarchs are racing against anyone other than your own team. So thanks to both sets of riders for dishing up two entertaining meetings this weekend, you are a credit to your sport. And thanks to the Glasgow promotion for putting together a team with potential and one that'll entertain! Very enjoyable meeting today. Some really good racing and some magnificent passing and first turn cutbacks. Any truth in the rumour that Glasgow are changing their name to the Glasgow Whales? Because they're often humped. :-) We'll let the Minions keep that name thanks. Because they're full of sperm! Assume the position boys! Paulco
Disappointed but not downhearted . True it's never nice to be defeated by ones so smug , but there was enough to give us heart for the rest of the season . Rusty was superb , the way he flew round the team riding Golden Child and whoever his partner was , was really special . Pijper and Lemon were steady and Agent Wolbert wont have to ride against his paymasters every week . Dimitri Berge got better as the meeting progressed and the signs are he'll do alright once he settles into Premier League racing . The two reserves are giving us the most encouragement though , and as neither can gate for toffee we are in for some exciting moments from them both . As for the Smug septet , well they flluked the win thanks mainly to the lesser Worrall and the annointed one . Steve Worrall's brother was obviously sneaked into his kevlars while nobody was looking and St Craig serenely breezed to an effortless maximum . Much sterner tests are to come in the coming weeks and we will have to up a level among a couple of our ranks , but i think we'll be a mid table side at least .
