screm
Why not? I got the Berwick line-up from the official site but there's no mention of the Redcar 1-7 on their site. Doesn't take to much working out however as Lawson has to be at one with Graveson and Crang in the reserve positions. After tonight's meeting I will update the Redcar 1-7 ready for Saturdays match. screm
Careful screm - you'll upset Mr. H. Mr H is at the end of a very long list of people I`m likely to upset. I was hoping to update the Redcar 1-7 this evening as the Bears took on the Bandits, but as the rain in Redcar fell mainly on the track it wasn't to be, hope for better luck tomorrow night. RedcarRacer
Judging by numbers on press day, Skidmore was 3 and Hall 4 - other than that will be it.

Robinh88
As I find myself out in the Irish Sea on a early Saturday morning, as we all do I found oneself scouring the internet.. Most people have probably read it, http://www.berwick-advertiser.co.uk/sport/berwick-bandits/ten-years-on-villar-is-still-overcoming-life-obstacles-1-3337784 while I can just about contain myself at the prospect of another Speedway campaign at the old age of 25. I was sat there mouth fully open for the 2 maybe 3 times I read the article, pretty much the same facial reaction when watching him race. He was a special talent on track well sadly I feel Speedway riders get forgotten about generally once there careers are over irrespective of Tony Rickardsson or Dean Felton, Got a lump in the throat that is for sure Back to the meeting tonight sadly I wont be in the Executive Terracing with my Prawn Sandwhich however I will be cheering the lads on from Speedway Updates and in depth reports from trusted sources like Emilali from his 5 Star Hotel Redcar I think are good oppisistion for us tonight the fact we have the team we have, inforces the fact that it should be more than a 46-44 home win. Okay studying the teams as I do I see us winning by about 18-20 points. Richard Lawson I feel will probably win 3 races minimum from the gate but other than that nothing what so ever to be fearful off. Hugh Skidmore has tended to be a thorn in our side in recent seasons. That being said our team is pretty solid this year with little splitting our Top 6 riders. Hopefully no more jobs for the boys Wethers apart who had a good season for us last year. I feel there is more to come from Bellego, yes he improved last year but still inconsistant Can Doolan cut it in 13 and 15? probably not but a 7.5 average would be a good effort Vissing definitely better than his average, Berwick maybe his little niche, maybe Vissing will be a Bandit for more than just 2014 Kus - Last chance saloon, Berwick used to be a place for riders to get there careers on back on track, he's got the ability If he doesn't take care of Graveson and Crang tomorrow we need to be worried. I don't envisage Steen Jensen struggling to fit back into rigours of British Speedway, he looks the part if he's on good gear he will make a fortune at reserve. Big home win tomorrow, set the benchmark for the season, we WILL NOT get a better chance with the current team or tomorrow's opponents Edited March 29, 2014 by RobinH88
screm
Bit of a murky start to the day, but it is just about dry. Forecast is decent for the rest of the day so the 2014 speedway season for Berwick & Redcar will start tonight.
bigeddiechek
... so the 2014 speedway season for Berwick & Redcar will start tonight. Erm, who said it wouldn't? Thanks for letting us know, though.
screm
Erm, who said it wouldn't? Thanks for letting us know, though. Good grief. The season would've started for Berwick & Redcar last Thursday, had it not been for the weather. It would've started for both last night, again the weather intervened, so for anyone out there who is hard of understanding, the season starts tonight.

rgcumming
Decent meeting to start the season and a solid lead to take to STMP when the second leg takes place. The first test of the 'strength in depth" team build is passed with flying colours, and although we will face better teams over the course of the season, a twenty point victory is a good start to the year in front of a big crowd. Doolan - The consequence of strength in depth is you run the risk of your number 1 falling short against top class opposition. Kev did struggle against Richard Lawson with the Bear finishing ahead of him on all 3 occasions. However, he scorched to a sub 65 second win on his second ride and finished up on 10 points. Solid, if not spectacular. David Bellego - 7 paid 10, didn't have as much joy coming out of bends 1 and 2 as he did last year but packed the minor places in all races. Matej Kus - Two races down and Matej was well off the pace. Two wins in his final two rides and noticeably quicker to boot. Hopefully the start of a great year for Matej. Matt Wethers - Masterstroke naming Stormy as captain. Flew away from Richard Lawson in heat 5 and a solid 10 points from 4 with donuts to boot. Claus Vissing - Unbeatable tonight, flew from the gate in all 4 of his races. Will push Doolan hard for number 1. Liam Carr - Fantastic debut from Liam, on the pace all night and a great Heat 14 following Stormy home for a 5-1. Steen Jensen - Solid debut from Steen, 5+3. Looked a bit shy of power at points but clearly a talented rider. The track was dry tonight and many riders had big wobbles coming out of bend 4, but all in all a very promising start.
bigeddiechek
That's Saturday nights back to being fun again!Certainly looks to be a solid team that will be difficult to beat. No disappointments, and great to see Liam Carr back having developed massively as a rider. I can't remember the last time we won so convincingly.
