Rye House V Panthers (east Of England Cup, 2nd Leg) 29/03/2014 @ 7pm

It's the Ales who should ATLEAST be averaging near to his average, atm he would be dropping to reserve....

Which is 7.52 and from the races he has ridden so far this season he is 7.2

I think he should and will do better, but far better to write riders off after 2.5 meetings !!

Dryml is going to find the PL a major struggle. He's Lubos Tomicek mark 2, relies on his gating too much and looks pony when he doesn't make the start.

should also say it was good to see Rick Frost there -cheering on the team in his Panthers jacket! :t:

Funny old state of affairs innit. No anthem, what a disgrace when Rye is closer to Buck Hs than the EoES!

Did you say hello to Rick? He's a big fan of yours I understand :)

Understandable, he's only human. ;)

I got a lot of time for Rick, he is a man of honour and itegrity.

Thus the reason he didn't see eye with fellow promoters and members of the BSPA - and was forced to walk away from the sport he loves. :t:

So, is Kennett a contracted Brummie or Rocket. I feel that the track who owns him should have priority whatever the event. Is there a list that shows who owns who. Knowing the BSPA they'll keep it under wraps to confuse eveyone else like they confuse themselves. I don't know who owns Blackbird and Jacobs either, but no matter what, whichever club is the owner of a rider, the club

should have the final say on which team he rides for when fixtures clash. Well done to the Elite League, they've managed, at last, after many years of trying, to put a spanner into the Premier League, which has always been run the best. I hope it still manages to. Tell the Elite League to sod off!

I remember it being posted on here that doubling-up riders didn't need to be contracted to the club they were doubling-up with (I believe it was in the Kildemand to Poole, or not - thread). That being the case, priority should lie with the team they do actually have a contract with which would be the PL team.

It was pretty poor viewing from the bends at the launch pad on Saturday. The new air fence means I've lost my spot in the middle of bends three and four and I will miss watching the do or die efforts of certain riders round the final two turns at rye. The air fence seems to be mainly free standing with very little to support it and to stop riders going underneath it in the event of a high speed fall.

You do have to laugh at some people they aren't happy unless there slagging ales , they seem to forget he was signed on 7.52, the way people go on you'd think he was signed as a no1 on a 12 average

I said the same on another thread - that he won't score much more at this level than what he would in the Elite League.

Not only that aswell, but Lasse Bjerre really isn't upto much. He looked like he had something about him when he first came over and exciting to watch, but he's clear now he's just living off his brothers reputation.

I think Dryml will end up averaging around seven.....he'll score pretty well at home and not so well away.

Agree about Lasse, the predicted breakthrough has never materialised and he hasn't really progressed much since his first full season in 2011. In fact he performed better for us in the EL that year than he did in a few appearances last season.

I think its far too early to judge Dryml A (actually almost reaching his average, forget the propaganda about being a GP rider) he has only ridden in three matches of which one was a challenge when riders are renowned for not taking extra risks or trying out machinery,

I would imagine Glasgow must feel this regarding Wolbert`s really slow start (Two Air Fence meetings). Give the guy 10 meetings then start to form an opinion.

Just to contradict myself, Bowen has made a pleasant start, just shows how you need a good number six, Scunthorpe lose at home with Williamson scoring 000 when Douglas probably would of scored double figures hence a comfortable home win. In short Rye House season may well be fine until/If Bowen gets injured and we get a three pointer to go with Lambert

It's not too early to predict how he will perform though, he's been around years and it's common knowledge he's a gating tart.

It is good that we've hit the ground running but Lambert is a concern for most fans, that says a lot.

"Gating tart" maybe maybe not, but I never understand why it is such a crime to be a "gating tart" when sadly most races are won from the start.

I struggle to remember many overtakes at all from the likes of Garrad to Neath yet they we both well appreciated by the fans and when you are not a "gating tart" re Kasper Lukke everybody criticises him for not improving his gating.

It's a problem because the likelihood of making 5 perfect starts against riders of equal or better ability is very unlikely - so the times he misses the gate you know he has no hope barring bike trouble or another slice of luck - especially come the later heats when the pressure is on.

I also much prefer Trevor O`Brien to Brent Werner with lots of overtaking but I am just being realistic, it just don't happen too often, take the Ipswich match last week, we hardly had an overtake all evening in fact I think the only real overtake for Ipswich was Worrall against Kennett but that was only because Kennett lifted off bend 2. So in short the Rye fans were happy with the performance with our only points coming from gating.

In regards to 5 gates, well if a rider makes 4 gates and scores 12 points you will normally find the fans are happy with that riders performance.

Both points are completely true.

I'm not a big chris neath fan, but he is the best rider i have seen ride the rye house track. He could overtake on parts of the track that no other rider could, and i have been a rye regular since 1972!

Neathy was a marmite rider, he was fantastic round Rye though and in 2011 really started to up his game away too and was on the road to being a proper number one in 2012 had he not had his career ending injuries in the first meeting.

Not a patch of Woffy! 2007-2008. :t:

worth the admission money alone - expecially if he missed the gate....
