Ben91
Robbo 2005. We used to hope he'd miss the gate Remember him breaking the tapes/missing 2 minutes and going out to team up with Eddie for a 5-1 the Friday night that we tonked Berwick at home. What a partnership that was.
Cockney Rebel
 Understandable, he's only human. I got a lot of time for Rick, he is a man of honour and itegrity. Thus the reason he didn't see eye with fellow promoters and members of the BSPA - and was forced to walk away from the sport he loves. I don'tknow rixkfrost andthereforw hav no reaaaon to questionhis honesty or integrity however he was not forced to walk away from speedway if you read the article in the speedway star you will see it was a business decision to walk away based around the uncertainty of the sky contract which he believedwould hinder the chances of gaining any new sponsorship he did a good job at peterborough and it' a shame he decided to quit but it was his decision nothing to do with any other promoter or as far as i can see any dispute with the bspa they at least gave him enough timeo to find somone to take over I know it'a alway opnseason on the bspaBUT SOMETIMES A PROMOTERACTS FOR HIS OWN REASONSHICHISWHAT RICK DID IT'S A SHAME HE'S GONE BUT YOUCAN'T BLAME THE BSPA FOR EVERYTHING BAD THAT HAPPENS SORRY I DIDN'T MEANTOSHOUT ICAUGHT THESHIFTLOCK KEY BYMISTAKE I AMJUST RECOVERING FROMA A STROKE ANDMY FINGERS DON'T ALWAYS DOWHAT I WANT THEM TO. "Gating tart" maybe maybe not, but I never understand why it is such a crime to be a "gating tart" when sadly most races are won from the start.  I struggle to remember many overtakes at all from the likes of Garrad to Neath yet they we both well appreciated by the fans and when you are not a "gating tart" re Kasper Lukke everybody criticises him for not improving his gatin   Not a patch of Woffy! 2007-2008. worth the admission money alone - expecially if he missed the gate....   "Gating tart" maybe maybe not, but I never understand why it is such a crime to be a "gating tart" when sadly most races are won from the start.  I struggle to remember many overtakes at all from the likes of Garrad to Neath yet they we both well appreciated by the fans and when you are not a "gating tart" re Kasper Lukke everybody criticises him for not improving his gating. SCB
Theres a difference between a gater and a gating tart. To me someone like Rory Schlein relies heavily on his gating but he's not a gating tart, he tries to pass but just can't. Yet Jonas and Daniel Davidsson are gating tarts as I dont think either have attempted to make a pass in their careers

In addition to what you say, I understand Rick and Julie either had a new business, or expanded one of their existing businesses, and this was said to be the main reason why they sadly walked away from promoting. I still feel they still have a great interest in the sport, and the sport should be very grateful for their contribution, but perhaps their 'watching brief' at the moment may see them return, and take a more involved role in future. Here's hoping, and good luck to them in their other businesses.
proud panther
Think Rick & Julie have only rented Panthers to Mick for 2 seasons, so in effect still own them at the moment. If Mick walks away after or during the 2 seasons, I would expect them to take it over again.
