Edinburgh V Glasgow (ch) 28/3/14 @ 7.30pm

Lemon was unfortunate when he got into a bit of a fankle when we were on a 5-1 , seemed to get to close to it . But we got gifted a 5-1 later on when Sedgmen's chain seemed to snap , so that evened things . Lykke and Thomsen gives us real hope in the early weeks till Berge drops to reseve

Thomsen - looked a different rider. Must have traded in his Dyson for a Jawa.

Lykke - send him to Steve Lawson for a week's worth of starting practice.

Berge - I'm hoping he was just told tonight to go out, do some laps at the back, and leave in the van he came in and not one with a flashing blue light.

Berge looked a bit wild in his opening ride , before he eventually fell . Was more tentative after that . Difficult place to make your debut . We'll see more from him on bigger tracks

Decent sized crowd as well tonight , with a fair few from Glasgow there . Hope it gets reciprocated on Sunday . Edinburgh's air fence does look mightily impressive

Firstly hats off to both teams for a good night's entertainment especially given that they weren't paid points money.

Secondly, really good to see so many Glasgow fans through making it a big crowd, probably amongst the biggest for sometime.

Both teams will take positives and negatives from this fixture. Only one rider will take away 5 positives all of which are being unbeaten by an opposition rider, even when headed by a fast travelling Rusty in heat 6. The Aussie's 20/30 yard lead counted for little as Cookie seemingly effortlessly caught and passed the Tiger.

As an aside it was good to see all riders getting their full allocation of rides (how it should be in my humble opinion).

As for the cold, what cold it was a balmy 5 degress centigrade positively Bermudic at this time of year.

Roll on Sunday.

In addition to the air fence I thought rider safety has been improved by moving the start gate back,as there appeared to be no bunching in the race to the first bend, which also previously handicapped the rider off gate 4, who was liable to run out of space.

Both teams are starting with decent reserve pairings and imo, the Tigers look like they will gain in replacing Ringwood with Nielsen, based on tonight's performance.

The Armadale micro climate came up trumps tonight as the forecast rain stayed away, although ten degrees warmer would have been nice :D

Forgot to say last night well done to the promotion on getting through the meeting a great pace. referee closed the meeting at 8.58pm last night only if all meetings could run at that pace.

Yes, but then fans would say it was not value for money. :P

With the temperature as it was , you never heard many complaints . But to be fair to the Grand Monarch , there was no decisions that had to be made in the Monarchs favour and the meeting was sped through at a brisk pace , and that didn't detract any from the entertainment .
