EnglishRoundabout
Is this the five minute argument or the full half hour? Did they just spring it out of nowhere at ice hockey (do they do it at Peterborough, it'd explain a lot)? It wasn't played last week and hasn't been for years so why now? Haven't we had enough sprung on us in the last 7 months without that? Funnily enough that's the only downer for me on my Cardiff visits, having to listen to that! Reminds me of the good old days and your spats with steve0
Gemini
Yes, I thought it was a strange comment as the lights wouldn't have been repaired that quickly. I know I read it somewhere but I've searched here and Facebook and can't find it now. The person had been to the meeting.
Gemini
Nothing wrong with a bit of Patriotism at the Icehockey they always play the national anthem I always like it at Cardiff when they play the Welsh anthem just a pity England dont have their own cross sport stirring anthem Hope Mick doesn't get any ideas of playing the National Anthem at Coventry.
Crump99
Reminds me of the good old days and your spats with steve0 Our drop from the 2014 other league (can't bring myself to call it Elite because it's hardly!) has obviously resulted in me having to leave the Swindon lot in peace. You never know though, our paths may cross in the future. The bonus of being here though is that brum isn't! It's really worth going Premier League just to lose him
TheScotsman
Alright Kalle did well BUT.... He did lose against our 2 young reserves in the first heat, and only made ground on the last lap. he won his 2nd heat from making a good gate and greenwood closed in on him, and heat 8, was clear but with a lap to go, blackbird made a good 15 metres on him, so even though he scored 7 points from 3 (exc tr) he wasn't THAT good. But compared to the rest of what Plymouth had apart from Newman who was good value, he looked a contender to be a world champion. You may well be right, I wasn't there. However it was Kalle's first meeting after the horrendous facial injuries he got in his comeback meeting at the end of last season (a comeback that only lasted a few yards and followed a longish period out of the sport). So it would take a few meetings to get his form back. He may not even get back to his previous level but if he does, there are few more exciting riders in the league and he is certainly heat leader standard. Remember he is still young, but needs to be kept in check to keep him away from the liquid distractions!! I hope he has a great season and wish he was in the Monarchs lineup. SimonB
Wouldn't know about hockey at Peterborough As to the not liking the Welsh anthem at Cardiff each to their own if we didnt have different opinions we wouldn't have a society never mind a forum about speedway At the Ice Hockey in Peterborough the National Anthem is played as part of the presentation of the players just prior to the start. I am patriotic and always happy to stand for the National Anthem.

gary moore
The National Anthem, what's that all about? And no I'm not talking about its origin, I'm talking about being asked to rise on a cold Tuesday evening amongst the sparse crowd for a minor PLC fixture. Did the Queen miss the opening night because they didn't do it last week or in the previous 20 seasons come to that! Hi Crump99 maybe the crowd had the same problem as us? We cant do Tuesdays!! Really looking forward to Premier but were stuffed!!

Sorry about that. That's the EoES for you though isn't it unfortunately. We're just a customer who has to make do, 1998,99 etc and our own masters is long gone. Tuesday is just a factor though IMHO. Agreed, as a come back meeting, it was quite impressive. As a reserve, or even as a second string to start with, is certainly worth it on his average.
