Ghostwalker
And Torun the big losers after that result. The dream-team didn't quite work out as planned it seems. And the club now looks like changing hands in the winter. Actually you have to remember that Torun started the season with -9 points so they have scored the same amount of points as Gorzow and it is not like the top 4 teams are particular weak either. They too have very strong teams. Edited August 11, 2014 by Ghostwalker

racers and royals
The div 1 TV match is a big top 4 promotion match teams http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/wydarzenie/25298 Lodz have put out a statement regarding their weakened line-up(not a great translation) Eagle boat on Sunday goes to Grudziadz the truncated composition, including without Jason Doyle and Antonio Lindbaecka. Club authorities in connection with this fact, issued a statement to address this issue.Statement Eagle Boat:On behalf of JC Eagle Boat apologize all supporters for the absence from the team for the upcoming league match in Grudziadz, the three best players. This is our protest against the personal treatment of the club by the city authorities. Despite the growing attendance, the struggle for higher and higher goals, employment in the club World Championships medalists and huge viewing television coverage of the participation of athletes Eagle, a grant from the city has not increased as much as penny !!! Nobody sees a family atmosphere in the stands, several thousand fans present in the stadium and hundreds of thousands in front of TVs. What's more, the authorities Lodz still we are convinced, as many have done for JC Eagle renovating fence and gate at the stadium, providing us the opportunity of advertising on międzytorzach, or by providing support to municipal companies. It's all total bullrubbish. However, the biggest faux pas against our strategic partner - the company H.Skrzydlewska, is to disseminate information that 650,000 gold transferred from the city to the club, more than half of its total budget! I'd love to be convinced that we, as Vice President and Director of Boat Sport UMŁ build such a strong team as we are now and they seem to her a little over a million gold ... Sure the money would end up in the Lords in the first round of the tournament! We do not agree on postponing the slag to "sidetrack" and ignoring our fans. These actions lead to the fact that the slag would die soon, like many other disciplines, from the map of Lodz. We demand respect and willingness to cooperate, and this protest is part of the struggle for "black sport" in Lodz.

Are the Ekstraliga clubs also getting these subsidies?

Not 100% certain but I think they do-Emil wrote to the Czestochowa city council when he was owed all that money in 2013 and the letter was leaked to the Polish press. You do get the feeling detailed management accounts for the Polish clubs would make very interesting reading. It's another way you can't compare the BEL with the Polish or Swedish leagues - financially it's it's just not a level playing field - or track.... Something that was very apparent in my commentary days was how impressive so many sports facilities I was commentating from around Europe were very impressive - and funded by the local council. If only we had such support here where it's private money that sets up and runs the stadia. Edited August 21, 2014 by rmc

RobMcCaffery
At least we see what Bridger can do in Poland again-although Harris is left out. Not just that, back in my early days names like ROW Rybnik were just that, names. Now thanks to the wonders of modern technology I can finally see what the tracks are like, as well as the major teams. When I saw a shy, confused Zenon Plech sitting in the bar at Crayford in late '75, having finally been allowed to come over I never once dreamed that one day that mysterious world of Polish Speedway could become so familiar.
