Most Improved Team Of 2014?

Recommended Posts

Seen somebody else do this in the National League thread and thought it was a good idea for a bit of fun. What team of riders will be the most improved on the averages over the course of 2014?

My guess is

1. Richie Worrall 8.42

2. Max Fricke 5.82

3. Lewis Kerr 6.09

4. Ulrich Ostergaard 6.52

5. Anton Rosen 7.00

6. Brady Kurtz 5.00

7. Steve Worrall 3.00

=41.85

1. Rene Bach 7.85

2. Steen Jensen 5.60

3. Anders Mellgren 7.33

4. Steve Boxall 5.69

5. Rohan Tungate 7.05

6. Brady Kurtz 5.00

7. Richie Hawkins 3.96

42.48

Hawkins is certain to be a big improver. He's never been heatleader material, but has made a career out of being a steady 5-6 point second string.

3.96 and at reserve, is a bargain.

hawkins has a 3.96 acerage because that is what he is capable of. 3.96.. maybe reach the dizzy heights of 480, but no more.. he had a few good meetings (workington. away) but the rest were just scoring his average..

To be fair, Hawkins was concentrating on his exams to be a fireman last season and had no intention of riding. But the signing of Makinen was a disaster and we turned to Hawkins to help us out.

He clearly was unprepared and totally not ready as he stank the place out for a couple of months and looked little better than Makinen!

But that was to be expected really and his average dipped accordingly. But he slowly got in to the groove and was scoring well towards the end of the season.

This year he's had all winter to prepare. I don't agree that he has an average of 3.96 because 3.96 is what he's capable of, he's better than that as history proves.

He'll put a point minimum on that average, IMO.

Are folk expecting this Brady Kurtz to be some sort of Darcy Ward ? Not many new Aussies reach much more than their 5 point average . Even the Golden Child at the dump only reached 5.82 last year

He's under more pressure than he perhaps should be, as we're now relying on him to come good if we stand any chance of being within a shout of the play offs.
