Sunderland Speedway Reunions

After 15 years of adorning the annual Sunderland Reunions with my speedway memorabilia, I have decided it's time to hang up - or should I say - take down my photographs, posters and related bits and pieces. Age has caught up with me and with the collection growing ever more larger, you might say it has got out of hand ......it's a huge collection!

The good news is that although the reunions will cease to run in the old format - thanks to the loyal support from all over the country - the message was clear "Well-just name a date and we'll all come up and see you just the same" They are determined to make the annual trek North to see us, have a good catch up and a meal or two over that weekend.

My thanks go to all who have attended the Sunderland Reunions over the years - and all who have helped to organise those great events ..... and I can truly say we never had a single failure. Well done to all.

I would like to add my thanks too. The Support of former Riders, not just Sunderland Riders has been phenomenal.

The only sad thing is that since 1974 there has been no Sunderland Team to support.

Happiness is 40-38.

Ian Martin.
