Little birdy
'Wrighty' is a good rider! His crash has taken a huge impact on him and his JOB doing Speedway. Think for most of you who sit on this and slate the riders think you should get to know them first and there job your just a fan who doesn't like a rider? Have you been on a track racing at that speed with no brakes trying to please fans while putting your life at risk and trying to earn a living? baba
What if a top rank rider grand prix class went through the same as james has with concussion. Surley we would support him and wish him well. Look at holder last season now thats lucky no head injury. But what if he then struggled to regain top form. Seemed low on confidence. He would be given time and people would really wish him well. The Only way to get back to best is track time against guys who are prepared to ride inches from you hard, not always fair, riders must sense that james is low on confidence and ride harder against him making it impossible for him to gain any mental edge over any self doubts. He has it in him, he is a racer most of us have saw james ride at his best and beat anybody on his day I for one would love to see wrighty back he has superb riding style and when in full flight looks just as spectacular as holder, ward, gollob(in fact a confident james is better to watch than most top riders)imo. Its obvious that james is struggling with the mental edge required for speedway seems like he cant unlock the formula he once had that worked for him, its no shame taking meetings in nl and challange matches to gain competitive track time. I really would love to read about james comeback one day....imo it should go like this....joins nl team at start of season finishes top of averages with nlrc in bag then doubles up following season in pl(with glasgow) so I can see his rise and once again be hot property in british speedway. Anybody ever experienced a bad car accident where there body has slammed into another passanger during crash? Not pleasant at all eh. Would it be easy after that to be a passenger in a car driven at high speeds....think about it for a few seconds...imagine the horror........... were only human after all and so is james..I hope he finds mojo and finishes career on high..this chapter in his life just needs a full stop and a new page. Good luck to james, ricky and others who have had life threatening injuries. Having normal health is one thing but coming back from not having it..... then to jump back on a bike and risk it again well guys it no suprise people call you warriors on bikes. I'm not slating James Wright here but the reasons you are putting forward just don't cut it. Â People who pay riders wages by going to meetings are allowed an opinion. Â If you want to entertain people then take up acting/singing/dancing. If you're a sportsman and your goal is not to win then you should re-evaluate what you're doing. Deano
Could do with more riders to be honest. Get fed up of hearing about retirements, but no one coming through the ranks to take their place. The more the merrier.
