The White Knight
Does anyone know exactly what the situation is with the above?? It's getting very tight for him to be available for the start of the season! I thought he had been refused a Visa. Has something changed? waiheke1
Thought it had been confirmed on the visas thread that he got a tier 5 visa approved back in feb.
Woz01
Thought it had been confirmed on the visas thread that he got a tier 5 visa approved back in feb. It seems so, he is listed to ride in the ERC.
Alan_Jones
Rob Godfrey has been told that that visas are issued 10 days after applications are submitted and that Ryan Douglas is 2 days behind Jason Doyle, whose 10 days are up next Friday. Interesting to see Doyle listed for the ERC when it's widely assumed that Tier 5 visas only allow riding for the sponsoring club.
waiheke1
I would have thought erc was ok as representing leicester?

I believe the tier 5 allows 20 hrs a week with a secondary employer.

mrcts
This from Jason from the Leicester website. To all the Leicester Lions supporters, team members and officials. Firstly, I would like to say how happy I am to be riding for Leicester Lions this season. I am really looking forward to the new challenge of a new club. I already know this club is very professional with all their organisation and endless work they have put in with my visa troubles, I hope this is the only problem I have this season. I would like to personally thank David Hemsley and his team for all their hard work over the last 3 months sorting this out. I think the team David and Norrie have put together is a really solid team. I know all the boys are racers and will give 100% all season and that’s all I am sure the club and supporters can ask for. I am looking forward to working with Norrie Allan this season, he has a lot of good things for the club and what he doesn’t know about speedway isn’t worth knowing. I am really sorry I wont be at press day to see all the supporters but I hope to see you all soon ready for the 1st meeting.

Pirate Nick
so, when mr doyle is travelling and getting paid for travellingto a guest booking. does the time for travelling go on the mork in the 20 hours or what. As far as I am aware travelling does not count.
A ORLOV
The definition of "working" is difficult. 20 hrs is approx 10 meetings or if you take it down to the time on the bike, each meeting is about only 30 mins, as the mechanics do all the preparation. Does this mean he can also ride for a PL team, if a space becomes available.

A ORLOV
The 20 hours is supposed to be 'of the same level', ie EL standard only if my understanding is correct. I read that and your understanding is correct, but as the two leagues are getting closer it might be argued that the top riders in the PL are at the same level as mid riders in the EL. If not allowed it will force Jason to ride abroad which he should be doing, if not already arranged.
