Devon Demons V Kent Kings,nl Ko Cup Sat 15th March

Recommended Posts

The Demons take to the track for the first time in the new era on Saturday 15th March.

Who will win this one?

While hoping for home win of course, I believe Kent are the stronger side all round.

That said, the Demons are having an official practice during Saturday afternoon, so will know what to expect from the track in the evening. Perhaps aching limbs from this might go against the Demons?

For me, an away win by 8+.

What are your thoughts?

Hoping for a Kings win but:

Very early meeting so do not know what riders are really tuned in.

Demons will want to impress first meeting.

Never easy to win away whatever meeting it is.

Hope there is a good crowd and all riders safe.

Ah Speedway is back. :lol::t:

Got a feeling that the Kings will steal the spoils here. Lambert, Morley and Compton are a stronger top trio than Webster, Reade and Smart. The engine rooms look evenly matched but the Kings have the stronger riders in reserve.

Plymouth raced canterbury and crayford in 1968 and 1969.

Er I think Milke meant two teams with county names NOT teams from Devon & Kent!

15 year old Luke Harris in the Kings team in place of the unavailable Daniel Blake.

Tough for the youngster.

Luke is reigning GB Youth Grasstrack champ - a great prospect for the future

Been very impressive over the winter at scunny and would have liked him as a stag. he will not let anyone down and will have a few teams chasing him if changes are needed at the lower end

First and foremost, I sincerely hope Brandon Freemantle is ok after his high speed and very spectacular crash. Frightening to watch.

Impressed with young Kyle Harris. Understandably dropped off the pace as the meeting progressed, but definitely one to watch. Should feel proud of his efforts.

Great effort from Morely, especially as he held off a couple barges from Smart, not giving an inch. Smart actually fell while trying a 3rd time! Got to be in with a shout at next weeks U21 semi Final.

Solid efforts from Reade and Smart, but in general gating let the Demons down

The live updates suggests the following...Quote ''So Simon Lambert claims the new SBA NL track record in heat 1 - That's because the track is a slightly different size and so the winner was always going to hold the TR. Same will of course apply when the PL gets up and running''.

Why so? As far as I'm aware, the increase has been done from the outside, not the inside. The track measurement, according to the programme is still 216 metres, so no new track records. At least no mentions about it last night.(NL:49.50 Thomas Jorgensen PL 48.06 Ryan Fisher).

Well done to Kent on their win, thoroughly deserved.
