JT
Dire so far, with the only overtake Harris and Hampel passing Hancock when he broke down. It's like a giant Prague.JT.
manchesterpaul
Three race winners to come in heat 5 Woffinden, Holder, Zagar and also the pointless! Hancock.
brandonbee48
Tai looks ultra-fast. Well done mate. Holder says it all "Starts are everything tonight" Nothing about racing.
JT
Gate two looks like a graveyard, with top riders having woeful first rides from there. Doesn't bode well for Hancock (who has already lost a certain second in heat one) in the next heat.JT. Edited May 17, 2014 by JT
manchesterpaul
It's clearly a great crowd but where did these reports come from about being totally sold out and squeezing extra fans in? I had thought it was a case of latecomers still to sit down but apparently not.
brandonbee48
Wow Tai is ok! Do you have some sound Alan? or are you sat there making motorcycle noises lol? Just like being there. All the noise and PA but no commentary. No problem at all. As you know I;m usually listening to Polish or Danish or Ermolenkoish. It's clearly a great crowd but where did these reports come from about being totally sold out and squeezing extra fans in? I had thought it was a case of latecomers still to sit down but apparently not. Seems to have been a bit of pre-meeting B/S going on. I'm utterly shocked!! Lol re pre-meeting and to think everyone accuses One Sport of propaganda lol. Maybe telling everyone it was going to be/WAS a sell out stopped people from going to purchase tickets! longlivefrankie
This is a very poor advert for speedway, hope the decent crowd aren't newcomers, my mate watching with me is already trotting out first out the gate comments
brandonbee48
Beforehand you might have fancied both Greg and Niels for a podium spot. Looks unlikely tonight to say the least. Chris Harris looking a tad better.

I invite a couple of first-timers around, lay on beer and curry and now feel ashamed at what's being served up on track.
JT
This is a very poor advert for speedway, hope the decent crowd aren't newcomers, my mate watching with me is already trotting out first out the gate comments It's completely crap. Despite the usual pre-meeting propaganda it's hardly sold out and if the racing continues to be this processional, next years crowd will be far worse. JT. Trees
What a terrible track, yeah great stadium but the most important thing is useless! BSI can't have it all ways! You either have a great racetrack and whatever stadium or a lovely stadium and crap track! I know what I prefer and surely what the TV prefer? Bradford Ace
This is utter drivel. Flat, narrow dustbowl & no passes in 8 heats so thank god we decided to give this a miss. Why in gods name do they still insist on these garbage temporary tracks?? They have never worked & never will. For Christ sake, we have massively talented motorcyclists here, give em something to race on please. An ever poorer version of Gothenburg if that's possible??? JT
When you have the likes of Niemenen and Harris holding off world class riders like Hampel and Iversen with ease, you know the track is crap. I wonder what the official line will be post meeting, surely they can't be happy with this?JT. Edited May 17, 2014 by JT
manchesterpaul
That did look a good gate by Smoli which he needed being in gate 2. On results this meeting Smoli should be targeting three points here. Ouch and as you'd expect in the re-run Smolinski gates last and finishes last. I was holding out hope we would get some 'racing' as the meeting progressed but this is all looking rather poor now. brandonbee48
5pm in Britain if that's what you are asking. Two hours ahead here in Finland. Light rain and chilly so far today but the forecast is that it should clear around 15.00. Practice is at 17.00. Weather for tomorrow should be fine. Word is that all tickets will have gone today and that they are looking to squeeze a few more in! The tented pit lane is behind the home straight grandstand. Hotel just walking distance away. Excellent facilities for fans, riders and the media. Finnish TV showing the SGP live ... normally it goes out the following week. The track went down on top of the athletics circuit last November but will have to come out within five days. The material will be stored (no snide remarks please) ready for 2015. "Word is that all tickets will have gone today".... Someone is telling porkies bigtime.
longlivefrankie
I think the crowds going home , sure there looks less than the start more gaps? Btw we are now watching the cup final just switching over to see results , how sad is that
