robert72
Interestingly there are some similarities between speedway and speed skating. Yes I thought that too, both have very dodgy referee decisions

The Doctor...
Don't take life so serious;y. The perceptive mind should show those who really do understand the meaning of debate when a starter Post similar to the one I placed is made that there must obviously be something ironic involved with it? Does it not surprise you, as it has myself, that so many replies should have been generated by my initial comment when, in point of fact, it perhaps should have been treated with humour or ignored? With your own comment in less than 24 hours, and inclusive of myself 35 responses. I do see that there are quite a few replies on here who have been clever enough to see through my Post and even accept that a basis for it is "why can a sport like Curling which is hardly ever publicised suddenly attract more attention than a mainstream sport like speedway in which Britain actually has a world champion? It doesn't surprise me that there has been many many replies along the lines of the Slough thread. ie, nonsense. Why post something ironic about curling on a speedway forum anyway ? Apart from looking for some back patting from your cohorts after your ban and moderation, what is to be gained ? You will get yourself banned again very soon i'm sure if you're already trying things along these lines so soon after your ban. Drop me a line if you want to meet up for a coffee in the morning...i've got a day off

Ray Stadia
I have been watching curling for years, it goes on in loads of hairdressing shops all over Swindon, and I have been warned by the police many times. May gain more popularity especially north of the border. Should set up lots of curling rinks in the high crime, inner-city areas of Glasgow and Edinburgh, although there could be a risk they could use the equipment as weapons. You could compare speed-skating to that ice speedway they had at Telford. Not sure if it has been mentioned on the forum, not seen it, but is there any future plan to bring back speedway over the winter to an ice rink? Not this year obviously. I thought Telford not staging was to allow for refurbishment.

The Doctor...
This is sailing close to the wind Doctor - I don't like the tone of that. :nono: Close? Way beyond more like. Totally unacceptable behaviour by "The Doctor".. Whys that ? I live within perhaps a mile of Gustix - is it frowned upon to see if a fellow local speedway fan wanted to meet up for a coffee ?

Therefore, your offer to meet up for a coffee, at best, is creepy. If it was genuine, why didn't you PM Gustix, rather than try for a further ridicule?

Have tried pm in the past but his inbox is always full and it bounces back - no doubt due to the vast numbers of private mails he receives off the back of his posts on here. He declined my polite offer anyway on here.. Anyway, who even replies to pm's anyway ? Many characters on here, including ones that are circling this thread right now are very big talkers here, but are strangely quiet once you attempt to pm them to carry on a discussion.

That would be good Ray, but all these curling teams would complain about the spike holes in the ice, mind you having seen the posts from lioness, they might help her game. All it would need, after the meeting, is a few ladies repairing the holes with their brooms!

The Doctor...
It does beg the question, Why don't you just stick him on ignore? Fair point - my only reason for not doing it was a thread i saw many moons ago where the same sort of thing came up with another member, and someone mentioned that with someone being on "ignore", it can sometimes make the thread hard to follow as big chunks of it would be missing.. Well "The Doctor" would get a straight response to any attempt to pm me since I have such unpleasant characters firmly on ignore. His thinly-veiled threat to gustix proves that was a correct decision. It's just unfortunate that others quote them. Putting it simply "The Doctor", who would want to have a conversation with you? I keep thugs firmly at arms' length, especially when they haven't got the guts to use their real names.. I've put my name on many a post here before, so you're slightly off the mark there - it's Tom Elwood by the way, as you obviously havent seen the posts with my name on them.
