weatherwatcher
I am afraid curling has about the same qualty has watching paint dry. Why anyone even bother to watch it beats me. Throw some stones down a strip of ice wait for the last but one to go in the circle then blast all the other stones away so you can get a point. Sorry give me speedway any day. slickmick
Bowls on ice??? Oh dear look at all those bowlers you see in parks and clubs up and down the country Probably more participants and spectators, particularly with the ladies who make the tea and sandwiches during matches. The world championships even get a couple of weeks live coverage on BBC. Be nice if Speedway got even as much media notice as Bowls.

THE DEAN MACHINE
Every year so called tennis fans come out of the woodwork and jizz themselves over tom hienman or whatever his name is ,these people are the same people that are currently jizzing themselves over curling. ,Its not a threat to speedway ,the only threat to speedway is the people who run it . Curling is just another media induced crap that we are forced fed in this country
spin king
Is not Lioness a Curler or whatever you call a player in curling.
iris123
But aren't the Curling World Championships being held in a couple of weeks time? Will we get even more hype just before the speedway season starts? And does it show that speedways current problem with SGP/SEC can work if they have Euro Champs-Olympics and World Champs all in the one season? YerRopes
I could take Curling seriously if it wasn't for that stupid sweeping. Sorry Lioness.  You are spot on there Gemini..  As for all those posts about Eve Muirhead (above), I know I'm getting old, but isn't she a dead ringer for the Simpson's Mr Burns..  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKUOB8MN4Kc  Anyway, well done Ladies on the Bronze

Tom Turner
Unfortunately our promoters are still living in the 80's, or even earlier. Times have changed and they refuse to keep up. Time to hang on and hope for the best

The Doctor...
It's because I need to feed the opinion of Posters like you! As I see it, anyone with half a brain would have realised it was a wind-up, done for a bit of fun. Â And you wonder why you get moderated ? Jesus mate..get a life. Anyone, and i quote "with half a brain", would perhaps channel their energies somewhere else rather than trying to get an internet boner on here by posting such crap.

The perceptive mind should show those who really do understand the meaning of debate when a starter Post similar to the one I placed is made that there must obviously be something ironic involved with it? Does it not surprise you, as it has myself, that so many replies should have been generated by my initial comment when, in point of fact, it perhaps should have been treated with humour or ignored? With your own comment in less than 24 hours, and inclusive of myself 35 responses. I do see that there are quite a few replies on here who have been clever enough to see through my Post and even accept that a basis for it is "why can a sport like Curling which is hardly ever publicised suddenly attract more attention than a mainstream sport like speedway in which Britain actually has a world champion? Guest
So does curling Eve Muirhead's rink are current world champs A valid point. As we are recognising sporting world champions - perhaps with an emphasis for this debate with motorsport - what about the various stock car world champions? billybikespeedway
What I dont understand when Team GB went 4 Stones down, why didnt the team manager/coach introduce his Black & white stone or play his joker ???
TMW
Curling is better on Eurosport. Why?. Is it strip curling on there?
SteveLyric2
What I dont understand when Team GB went 4 Stones down, why didnt the team manager/coach introduce his Black & white stone or play his joker ??? The Tactical rule in curling allows for a stone that is twice the size of all the others!! It has 2 purposes - to cover the whole of the target area, scoring triple points - and/or to split any other stones that it comes into contact with, in two!! Â I can't understand why it wasn't used either??
