BWitcher
Has it been a continuous trait of his to behave like this? come on cut a bit of slack eh.Have you ever made mistakes? have you any skeletons in your cupboard maybe you have maybe you haven't but that's my point who am i to judge. Some people? and lets be honest those people don't matter. Most people i speak to speak highly of him, i don't know him personally and ie) my take is live and let live. Yes some people. If there weren't people wouldn't speak negatively on here of him would they. Stop whittering on about mistakes etc and trying to pass them off as something we all do. We don't. Period. Simply concentrate on his riding, which is where the praise is due. No need to make excuses for past indiscretions.

I do agree with concentrating on his riding and enjoying his skill on a bike for as long as he rides. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
This is the year for Hampel Sid. If you trawl back through this or any previous thread, nobody seems to rate him as a winner. My take is that he has one numerous GP rounds and has the class and appetite to go all the way this year. Watch this space Sidney....watch this space........Im with you on Hampel ER - although I said the same last year. !
Daniel Smith
There has been this saying flying around some riders on Twitter and it's very accurate and I think Darcy has taken note but it doesn't look like he's listened over the winter. "Hard Work Beats Natural Talent When Natural Talent Doesn't Do The Hard Work" This proved very prominent for 2 rider's last season who said they never trained and practiced so hard in their lives. Tai Woffinden & Niels Kristian Iversen finishing top 3 was no mistake. Darcy refuses to train in a gym or have a personal trainer. Riding MotoX and practicing his starts with Jason Crump is bo!!ox preparation. He's young and with the attitude he has, he could get by for the next 1-2 years. If he's not World Champion by then he never will be unless he changes his approach.
Bagpuss
If Darcy or any other rider who wants to be World Champion hasn't taken note of Tai and Puk's preparation last season then they want their heads looking at.

The biggest thing he needs to do is to be happy with himself before the series kicks off.Everybody is different in there opproach, for me to try and stay injury free that involves having a bit of luck along the way.If he has not learned something off of Jason i will be astonished and how i would love Jason to be in his corner full time that would be awesome.Jason reminds me of Darcy in a way, because when Jason was starting out he was no every bodies cup of tea i could never quite understand why that was the case.Ward his biggest hindrance i believe is that he wants to win every race, this is not always possible decision making playing the percentages then come into it if he gets that part right he won't be miles away. No, what is pathetic is inserting vodka bottles into drunk young girls and fleeing the police on a motorcycle whilst under the influence. Gavan
Jeez how can anyone defend what Ward has done in his private life! The guy has been an idiot and only the blinkered who can see no wrong in those who wear the pirates jacket think its ok. His private life and what he does on the track are separate as you simply can not doubt his ability. Unfortunately every now and then the petty little brat he has been rises to the surface. He needs to take a good look at what Holdet Tai and Iversen have done. He just expects the glory to come to him he needs to learn to work hard and focus them maybe he could be champion but I would bet my bottom doller Tai will finish ahead if him again

I'm not sitting here judging anyone. I have no issues with Ward, something which passes you by in your non-sensical rants. You keep accusing me and others of making mistakes, we are pointing out that the vast majority of us have not made the same mistakes as Ward has, that is it. It is the right of those who dislike him based upon his past. It is up to Ward to turn those opinions around by bucking up his ideas, concentrating on his talent and winning speedway races. Which he can do.

Red Panda
Having seen him ride well the latter end of last season and no doubt his natural talent plus help from the likes of Crump and Hancock I think he can do it this year..........but it will be a hard fought battle with Holder and NKI........... We know he is not the greatest gater and with respect he does get a bit hairy at times over taking but he is good entertainment and has calmed down a lot............. And please when judging someones past shall we call them misdemeanours take a look back and see what mistakes you have made in life............no one is perfect.......... oldace
Seems as though there are two discussions going on here. Firstly as an individual Darcy Ward is a vile piece of scum. He is lower than a snakes belly button and in reality should be doing a 5 stretch right now Secondly as a speedway rider he is probably the most naturally talented around at the moment. Natural talent alone rarely equates to world titles though, it has to bd applied and i think wards immaturity will stand in his way To answer your question sidney, can he win? Yes for sure. Will he win? With his current attitude, highly unlikely
