The Pedaler
Seems it's not just the Poles, but the Danish national team have had a few days of training too - Now let us guess...who are the top two nations in world speedway at the moment? Still, we're British, we don't need training. Heck, we don't even need to get our bikes built yet... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYrnaJD9YOE#t=13 Not wishing any accidents or illnesses on Bridger, but if he ever had need of the BEN Fund's assistance, I'm sure that they wouldn't tell him that he wasn't getting any money, "because their cheque book wasn't ready", or whatever. Bagpuss
Don't agree with much of your bellyaching but your first point is spot on, if Rosco hasn't already arranged a team practice then he really should be doing as a minimum requirement, hasn't happened since Rob Lyon ran the show and its a bit baffling. Good to see the team getting such an early outing but we need more.
A ORLOV
The Danish team are not having a test at Kings Lynn this year, GB should have arranged something there and it would have been good to have had a few meetings against clubs or made up sides. It is good they are using the Ben fund as a run out but more should be arranged, hopefully they will do.
barrow boy
So with these 8 man teams are they using the old format that was used in test series in the good old days? They used to be 8 man teams didnt they. No. According to Alan Jones on Leicester's Web Site it is a 14 heat format featuring all 8 riders and there is a second half competition consisting of 4 heats and a final. Nobblytriers
Has anyone got any information with regards to parking in the retail car park this Sunday? It's not normally a problem on a Saturday night but with the shops being open for at least two hours after tapes up, I wondered if there was any risk of breaching any parking restrictions that may be in place. MaryHornage
You can park for free in the shopping centre car parks for 4 hours only with cameras recording entry/exit - any longer and you will be fined.
Al Stewart
Supporters heading for the Ben Fund Bonanza on Sunday will be given the opportunity to have their photo taken with World Champion Tai Woffinden. Tai is making himself available between 12 and 1 on Sunday at the track, and anyone who wants to be photographed with him will be able to, for a contribution to the Benevolent Fund.

Of course the car park is liable to be a lot busier on a Sunday afternoon than a Saturday night but as long as you can find a space the only restriction is parking for 4 hours. Go over that and you may get a nice £85 fine.
Nobblytriers
Thanks for the info Gemini. Weather forecast looks good so hopefully we'll be OK for a good meeting. Looking forward to this.

Skodaman
Thanks for the info Gemini. Weather forecast looks good so hopefully we'll be OK for a good meeting. Looking forward to this. There has been an overflow car park organised for big meetings in the past. Look out for the signs.
SimonB
Advice on car parking on private land from citizens advice - its a civil matter and the company would have to take you to the small claims court to force you to pay, mostly they dont do this as it takes too much time and effort for relatively little return. Of course you can just make sure you dont park for more than four hours!! If you get a ticket on your windscreen or through the post, and you think that it is unfair, for example, you had a good reason for staying over the time you had paid for, then you should contact the parking operator, giving your reasons and asking them to withdraw the ticket. You could also approach the private company with an interest in the car park, for example, the supermarket whose car park you had parked in, and ask them to withdraw the ticket. If you get a ticket and you don’t think you should have to pay, you can decide not to pay and not to reply to the parking operator. It is possible that the parking operator will take enforcement action in order to recover the charge although in practice a threat of this nature may not be followed through as the amount of money being demanded is usually quite small. A parking operator has no power to recover a parking charge without first taking court action. The company may continue to send requests to pay and you can continue to ignore these unless they decide to take you to the small claims court. If the parking operator does take you to court, you may be able to defend the action, for example, on the grounds that you did not park in breach of the parking rules and/or that the fee being demanded is unreasonably high. If the company keeps contacting you, you can ask them to stop harassing you. If the company behaves badly, you can also report to this to the landowner or to the British Parking Association if the company is a member. If the company is a member of the British Parking Association, their procedures can be followed to complain against the parking ticket. Any member of the BPA should wait 28 days before sending a final demand.
SCB
If a private operate "fines" you, throw it away and ignore it. It's an invitation to pay, not a demand. Only a court can demand you pay and they won't. DO NOT make contact with them, as they will see you as weak and continue to hound you, people who ignore the first couple of letters are written off as they know you're not going to fall for their scam. You can't charge someone £85 for parking on some land they had not being used, to due you for trespass you have to have caused them a monetary loss, being parked on there land won't have done that. Try sticking a sign on your gate saying anyone entering your garden has to pay you £100 and see how far you get, you'd be laughed at by a judge.
