Apologies, was not clear, but per responses below it seems my recollection was right and he found god snd became a social worker. I think iam thomas said something like "if he wants to help the needy, he can get on his bloody speedway bike and help us." Andy Galvin had 2 great seasons in the NL 1988 and 1989 should have gone British League in 1990 but had another season in the NL broke his thigh and was never the same rider.
