Speedway Star - Fantastic In-depth Interview With Tai Woffinden + Co

Recommended Posts

I've really enjoyed the in-depth features on the past British World Champions during the winter. But the Speedway Star really excelled itself with the Andrew Skeels feature on Tai Woffinden, with interviews with Tai, family and friends.

It's impossible not to like this young man.

It's been a fantastic series and really added to the winter read of the Star.

All the best

Rob

THANKS ... Andrew did a fabulous job. He has family connections (coming from Scunthorpe himself) but nonetheless it was a terrific effort, journalism of the highest order. But no doubt The Pedaler thinks we nicked it from a press release!

But he's got tattoo's and swears.

It wasn't like that in the olden days

I love the bit where he was asked what he thought when he won the title and he swore and his mother said they couldn't print it :D And the story of missing a ride in a pair event in Aus when Chris Holder asked why he said he was eating his hot dog.

Agreed, it was a great read.

Haven't got round to the SStar interview yet but saw this pre-NZGP one on the Otago Daily News site. Some harrowing stuff about his father, but particularly like his answer about his greatest rival.

"Nicki Pedersen. He's an idiot - he'll dive through gaps that aren't there and run you straight to the fence. Everyone is a bit ruthless at some point but he's ruthless for fun on every lap. I hope he doesn't break his back or someone else's doing it. I love racing him - he hates it when you beat him. If he beats you he turns around and gives you the old thumbs up. I don't even look around when I beat him - he's not worth turning around for."
