Steve0
Sky Sports news have just given details of the 5 major sporting agreements announced today and Speedway was last up behind WWE wrestling !!! The order they were announced means nothing. For some strange reason WWE wrestling is very popular.

barrow boy
Are Sky sponsoring the league again or are they just paying for the matches televised?
Irk Deflector
Are Sky sponsoring the league again or are they just paying for the matches televised? Are they paying? How much are they paying? Hope it is a good deal for Speedway one that promoters can take advantage of.
g13webb
Brilliant News, we couldn't have asked for a better deal. The fact that sky are on board, must be hugely beneficial for prospective sponsors. The Elite league name is also up for grabs for some forward thinking National Company to plaster their name over the league, knowing full well, every Monday night they would get massive coverage. Â I hope the 'powers at be' take advantage of this new contract and get pro-active in taking control of the situations and ensure that all the clubs do their utmost of putting on a good and exciting racing. Ensure the track is race able and not a procession. Â We want to use this opportunity to generate public interest and hope they like what they see and become a regular at their local track.. Â We mustn't waste this wonderful opportunity again, by sitting back and doing nothing.
SteveLyric2
Are Sky sponsoring the league again or are they just paying for the matches televised? Not sponsoring!! Â HOWEVER, its very strange theres no mention of the new streaming service - announced today - provided by 'At The Races' new in-house sports streaming company (jointly owned by BSKYB and Arena Racing), who have reached an agreement with Go-Speed to stream most if not all EL and PL meetings to Bookmakers. Â 'At The Races' is currently available on Virgin Media and Sky Sports channels -534 and 415 respectively!!!!!!!! I agree with most of your point, but to date Go speed have not been able to get a sponsor in the last 15 years so why should it now change. I hope it does but will wait and see what happens. YerRopes
Pleased to see Sky confirmed for another 5 years.. Â Now reduce admission to a tenner whenever Sky are in town, this will hopefully improve crowd levels and cultivate some excitement on the 'terraces'. Â Of equal importance is the track preparation, get this right and ensure that there are two 7 man teams there to compete and we then might just see some exciting meetings with a bit of atmosphere.. Â BTW...Can we increase the points limit now ?

As i said in my other posts, its in the hands of the BSPA and clubs now. If they don't make positive strides and maximise this situation for the benifit of British Speedway first and formost then in 5 years time i guarantee, Sky will definately say bye bye.. Daniel Smith
The Elite League should take what they get offered as a main sponsor and not go looking for immediate mega £££'s.  Just make sure it's isn't Tampax and the likes. If a meeting get abandoned for a water logged track that would be embarrassing

stevebrum
Suzy Perry knew more about the sport & by Jesus she was good to look at. Lets face it, since Suzy it has been a steady decline in any knowledge about the sport with each new passing face.
1 valve
Suzy Perry knew more about the sport & by Jesus she was good to look at. Has anyone got a link to the recording of when Martin Dugard thumped another rider (sorry cant recall who that was) in the Eastbourne pits right in front of Suzy? her reaction was classic Suzy...
