manchesterpaul
Tai Woffinden has been nominated for the 2013 MCN Man of the Year. Voting only runs until the 5th February, and the winner will be presented with his award at the MCN London Motorcycle Show on 14th-16th February. Unlike many online polls there is no filling in of forms or giving email addresses etc. Just takes a second to click his name. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/General-news/2014/January/jan2914-man-of-the-year/ Who knows if enough of us vote we may get more coverage in the publication? I have voted for Tai Woffinden. But I have a concern about the Poll. There does not appear to be any way to prevent multi-voting for a nominee. Or am i wrong in this presumption? I did recall the Poll and there was an opportunity to vote again?

You are forgetting the cosy agreements between the US and UK particularly the NSA and GCHQ etc. You attempt to vote twice and they'll quickly target a cruise missile attack on 'Gustix Mansion.' I'd guess that they use cookies and ip addresses etc? However, i have all three browsers that i use delete cookies upon closing a browser, so not sure how their protection copes with that and dynamic ip addresses.? Try and vote again and you'll get a message saying "Your vote has already been counted". Anyway, I've made my vote for Tai, (now to find some proxy servers to put some more votes through)! Anyway, I've made my vote for Tai, (now to find some proxy servers to put some more votes through)! Would you actually need to go installing proxies etc. Wouldn't taking a few seconds to release and renew with the ipconfig command do the same? Also, what about something as startingly clear if you clear your cookies/cache? Although i presume the latte rwon't work as they'll be logging IP addresses. Got to admit i do hope fans don't go attempting to make multiple votes as we don't want MCN to decide to exclude Tai due to fans skullduggery! Agree , I would like to see Tai win it , and I think he has as good a chance . but it has to be won fairly or it's a hollow victory ,

Although i presume the latter won't work as they'll be logging IP addresses.I doubt clearing cookies does anything, and I wouldn't go messing with ipconfig or installing things, but I would imagine you could get extra votes by visiting the MCN website via a proxy like those "hide my IP address" type websites. No doubt some techy types will know how to make multiple votes, either for Tai or for others, but if we all just vote once, he should have a good chance. (Can do one vote from home, one from work, and one via mobile withoput much trouble).

Thanks for pointing this out Gustix and for pointing out that any voting should be fair and proper, so as not cause any accusations of vote rigging or manipulation. If Tai does win, it MUST BE fair and square, as you allude to. Good call!

Gustix was the first to raise mention of the evil deed of multi-voting potentially existing. Whilst on the other hand, in a rare saintly moment, i was the first to appeal for fans not to follow such a sinful path. Got to admit i do hope fans don't go attempting to make multiple votes as we don't want MCN to decide to exclude Tai due to fans skullduggery! SCB
Well its not using cookies as it tells me, "Thank you, we have already counted your vote." when I try voting. Making the whole thing pointless.

Starman2006
Yep, well done Tai. Give's Speedway a little bit of publicity.
trophykid
Bloody Hell, genuinely gob smacked- well done Tai. Speedways failure to engage with the biking community has always stuck in my craw. Or Speedway promoters please use this to get more bikers down to Speedway. Grand Central
Should we really be surprised after the thread here on BSF encouraging voting for him? A thread that got just 14 replies, 422 views and the last contribution was made over a fortnight ago. So I hardly think it would have been a critical factor. The current thread where a chap is complaining that his Speedway Star was a bit late arriving has an almost identical level of interest. For Goodness Sake. No this is a really welcome surprise. One Hundred Per Cent Earned by the young man himself. And yet another opportunity for us all say 'Well Done, Tai'.
