OMG, they said speedway on tele? imagine Eurosport mentioned speedway, I'd explode with excitement.

Question of Sport now joins the list of those to blame for falling attendances.

In our house we no longer say "speedway", just in case.

Trying to think which riders I have seen on QOS, I'm sure there have been a few. Certainly Kenny Carter and Hans Nielsen. Hans got the winning answer on his appearance (and it was a football question!)

I try to avoid the programme now, it's like a scripted comedy show.

There are often speedway related questions on Eggheads. I reckon someone at the BBC must be a closet speedway fan. Probably never goes to a track though but just sits at home and watches on Sky.

Jason Crump was on it a few years ago. One of the questions was What happened next, I think the rider was Hans Nielson and I think he was celebrating a win when he went up on his back wheel and fell off.

Sam Ermolenko was on it also.

You are right, I used to never miss the show in my youth, back in the David Coleman era. As you say since Sue Barker took over it has become a scripted comedy show and I never watch now.

Can't remember Ivan being a mystery guest, but I do remember Erik Gundersen being the mystery guest when Hans Nielsen was on the panel.

Also football referee Uriah Rennie was once the mystery guest having a go at Speedway at Sheffield.

Trying to remember riders who have been on the QoS panel. I can recall Peter Collins, Hans Nielsen, Gary Havelock, Mark Loram & Jason Crump and I think Jan O Pedersen may have been on.

I also have a vague memory of either Dennis Sigalos or Bobby Schwartz being on, but I'm not totally sure.
