jimmy jimmy
Indirectly, Ford to blame again. He's the one who drove Sandhu out the sport and pissed the man off so much. Sorry, that's a stretch even for you
george.m
When I first saw the meeting was off I assumed it was due to weather. I simply cannot believe what I'm reading, or can I? SKY will not be happy about this and along with the riders, those fans who've paid money and given up time to go to Coventry, I feel for SKY. As a SKY customer, who only has the Sports package so I can watch speedway, I'm totally p!ssed off! The Pedaler
British Speedway @SpeedwayGB 1m We will be launching a full investigation to establish how this situation was allowed to happen. #ERC Maybe they will find that there was some faulty plumbing responsible for the excess water on the track...oops, no, wrong investigation. Seriously though, this should be interesting. What can they do? If as Horton has said, "it wasn't me guv, it was the big bad Brandon track staff" - what can the BSPA do? They have no contractual relationship with the Brandon Boys. They can try to pin the blame on Horton, and he'll only sulk even more than he is already sulking. Bearing in mind that this is a Co-Promoted event WITH THE BSPA, just how much blame will the BSPA's investigation shovel onto itself? Get the buckets of lime and water ready, We're in for a Whitewash here.
P T Preece
Im so glad I didnt go to this, I was looking forward to watching it on the Tele, what a farce, no mention of it being restaged and the Brummies are there on Friday, probably, maybe, its anybodys guess. How do we keep doing it making the sport we love into a complete shambles, its unbeiveable that the track wasnt over seen by a BSPA offical, when did sky start to put there stuff up, surley some one from the presenting crew could see the problems well before the late call off, all those poor supporters who travelled I feel for you. Farce absolute farce.
yellowandblack
Horton's statement sounds reasonably genuine. It's not a Coventry thing. This is all down to the wrong people preparing the track. They don't know what they are doing ......clearly. Get someone who knows what they are doing in. Its pouring down now anyway.
SCB
I agree with all you say BUT there is several things connecting both clubs and that is Mick Horton and his merry band , why operate two stadiums when you can do it out of one ? And if Sandu or whoever owns Brandon want speedway out there is a very easy way to do it as had happened over your last two meetings . Can see it happening in 3 years time anyway Or just simple take Peterborough back into the EL. No need for conspiracy theories. Sorry, that's a stretch even for you TBF, this was predicted by many years ago. Then Horton was brought in to drag it down. Thats failed so.... LagutaRacingFan
It's simple to me what's happening. Sandhu wants to force the Bee's out so construction on housing can start immediately. I hope I'm proved wrong but It certainly looks like it.
Pirate Nick
correct I have read exactly what has happened and I'm aware of the trouble Coventry are in but when a team manager shows himself to be a complete numpty on twitter and not for the first time then I have every right to criticise. And I don't see where Middlo mentions anything about Coventry speedway. What happened in Belle Vue is still fresh to a lot if people who believe in fair play and unfortunately the Poole team manager had shown himself up to be a hypocrite And there you go again, just can't help it can you? Triple.H.
I wonder if this attempt by the BSPA to hijack Havvy's big night was't at the back of the riders minds when deciding just how dangerous the track was? Wouldn't surprise me if getting one over on the organisation that was so contemptuous of one or the "Riders Union" could have made the track "a little more dangerous than it otherwise might have been" in the eyes of the other "Riders Union" members...just supposin' like. ive read a vast amount of testicles on this forum over the years and this surpasses all.
mikebv
Should be a quick old investigation that one! "Oh yes, we fu#%ed up again." Done. and the findings of our in depth investigation is as follows..... It definitely wasnt us because.. 1. the sunshine leading up to the meeting was the wrong type of sunshine resulting in the wrong type of rain not falling on the track.. 2. havvy made us change the date,.... 3. we weren't even there till later so how we would know the track was barry white.. 4. we dont even know what speedway is, what is speedway? There, conclusive, that should just about do it... Now whose for ballsing up the British Final?.. oh just remembered another one. 5. it was probably the pilot from that missing planes' fault, yeh, he did it...... there, the plebs should swallow that... now, has anyone got dave hoggies number?? Speedy swindon pete
Watched the Moto GP instead.....wonder why many of us still bother enduring with Speedway in Britain, when there's presentation and entertainment like that in Moto GP just on the other channel.

Dave Stummings
Charles Ochiltree ran such a professional outfit at Coventry when he ran the club. Look at it now. British Speedway needs people like Ochiltree to run clubs. Not the mish mash we have now!

Although - guess usual practice will be that you come out smelling of roses and some other idiot takes the grief. If you were a real man with testicles, you would do the admiral thing and resign - won't hold my breath though

Mr Blobby
Why are people blaming the BSPA! Are the BSPA in control of who owns the stadium NO are the BSPA in control of who the owners of the stadium hire to prepare the track NO this matter is well out of the BSPA control as the track staff are not hired by coventry speedway they are hired by the owner of the stadium.

Largely I agree with you Mr B, but someone has to be the overseer of the meeting. I'm not sure who that is TBH.

Yeah but any real chief takes the flak - that's what he paid for - that is normal practice in the real world - unless speedway is not part of the real world.
