pvm
Is it a straight forward Top 8 in the averages, or 7 plus "wildcard" or is that information not in the public domain.
Bezza
Looking at new averages which come into force today, looks like the teams missing out on this years 4's wil be Glasgow, Ipswich, Rye House, Scunthorpe and sadly my own team Berwick. No Ipswich or Rye (ouch!) - that is going to have a negative effect on the gate by as much as 400. Especially at a time when a cash injection is much needed. A real shame, I enjoyed the 4's last year despite the incidents/delays.

To name a few.

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
If Sheffield qualify off the back of Proctor being 9+ it will be a farce.
2ndbendbeerhut
Well if its top 5 aves count- Newcastle 37.67 (inc Danny King 11.18) so would be 30.82 Somerset 36.49 Workington 36.15 Edinburgh 35.57 Peterborough 35.01 Sheffield 34.87 (inc Ty Proctor 9.22) or 29.46 Redcar 34.16 Plymouth 33.16 Berwick 33.09 Scunthorpe 32.91 Ipswich 31.52 Rye House 31.39 Glasgow 31.03 Or if top 4: Newcastle 33.34 (inc D King 11.18) or 26.49 Workington 31.18 Sheffield 31.12 (inc T Proctor 9.22) or 25.91 Edinburgh 30.26 Somerset 30.1 Peterborough 29.46 Redcar 28.58 Plymouth 28.04 Berwick 27.59 Scunthorpe 26.93 Ipswich 26.64 Rye House 26.13 Glasgow 25.81 So either way the top 8 are the same, just depends on if Sheffield qualify or are Berwick in. Like Bezza has said, with neither of Peterborough's neighbours in, then the crowd will certainly be effected. Edited Sheffield and Newcastle changes Plus Plymouth would have "qualified" with Katajisto in team, Redcar now have Mark Lemon in too. lucifer sam
Danny King still hasn't got a PL average either has he? It's not just Ty Proctor. Don't understand why the qualifiers are not brought back - they used to be a good money spinner in front of good crowds (three sets of away fans). It would stop the annual debate on who is included and who isn;t. All the best Rob Edited July 3, 2014 by lucifer sam

Arson fire
I'm sure there's a good reason.............just can't, for the life of me, imagine what it could be. is/was it not the southern teams saying it wasn't viable?? Never heard one fan saying they shouldn't be brought back, but our opinion matters not, they'd rather have extra league meetings against a select 2 Edinburgh fri, Berwick sat, Glasgow sun and newcastle Monday...... Happy days Edited July 3, 2014 by Arson fire

screm
it would just be nice to know the criteria for qualifying I suppose. Qualifying criteria for this year I believe is the first seven clubs to phone BSPA head office are in, its then those seven plus Peterborough. 2ndbendbeerhut
Can Ipswich and Rye House have a combined Essex/Suffolk side? Glasgow and Edinburgh as Scotland?!
Lioness
Edinburgh fri, Berwick sat, Glasgow sun and newcastle Monday...... Happy days Were the Glasgow and Newcastle meetings ever on the same day? I have a vague recollection of Glasgow then racing (ahem within speed limits of course) down to Brough Park for the evening

scunny1
Hmmm , so potentially bottom of league qualify ,but current 3rd don't???
Ned Kelly 41
Whatever your criteria, Plymouth cannot possibly qualify. Josef Franc won't have done anything like enough meetings for them, nor (I feel certain) will Adam Roynon -- who would still be unfit to resume racing on August 3 anyway. Leaving them on a "top five" (current averages) of 29.12, or "top four" of 25.92 Elevating Berwick (33.09 or 27.59) Redcar (without Mark Lemon) would be still be safe on 34.16 or 28.58. Danny King and Ty Proctor will probably be acceptable by now -- but woe betide a club fiddling with their 1-7 between now and any cut-off date, as this might drop them out, and allow (for instance) Scunny or Ipswich to move on up. Arson fire
Surely cut off date would have been 1st July? I'd doubt newcastle or Sheffield will qualify with not having an average but having rid quite a few fixtures( in kings case).... So I think the way the league fixtures have fallen, ie hardly any away meetings...won't do us any favours.
