What's he actually done Skidder. The only injury I was aware of was thumb? Clearly I missed something...( not unusual) :P

Knee ligaments! He tweaked it originally in the Troy Bayliss meeting in Oz in the Winter and then did it worse in the NZ GP crashes when he even snapped the knee brace he was wearing in that big off with Smolinski!!

Ouch! It must be pretty serious to be out so long and needing that op. That's seriously gonna pit his GP campaign back!!

Yet again, an event pioneered abroad gets poo-poo'd.

Pioneered? There was a World Pairs competition back in 1969, and I'm sure pairs competitions themselves must go back even further than that.

Whilst I like pairs meetings, this is just a series of glorified open meetings masquerading as some sort of official competition. If there's demand for such a thing, then organise it as an official championship with buy-in from national federations.

Bloody shame for him, he's having some bad luck

Darcy is one of my favourite riders too, very exciting to watch.

But I don't think "bad luck" completely accounts for the regular injuries that he has.

He rides closer to "the edge" than most riders (e.g on another riders back wheel), as does Emil. Great to watch, but more susceptible to injury.

Sometimes I think that air fences are a double-edged sword - safer, but they encourage riders to take more risks.

Just my opinion.

This injury was bad luck 100% Yeah he'll go for it but that's why he's box office :-)

Darcy has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He is withdrawing from all club racing and having 'intensive' physio-type treatment with the aim of attempting to ride in the Finland and Prague GPs - if he cannot race to an acceptable level then its likely he will have the op sooner rather than later, as Middlo is recommending!!

But its Darcy's sole decision!

Thanks paul, fantastic, sit down and enjoy it now :t:, a bag of crisps and a cider, well away, bring it on.

You're very welcome, thanks for the thanks.

Hoping to switch back and forth between both meetings.

Join you shortly. Alan.

Sopcast 96707 for the League match and Daria as a bonus. :t:

I've wimped out of multi-tasking for once (may be called to be on the phone a little bit too) and am just concentrating on the Best Pairs, enjoy all three Alan.

Just checked out a German forum and thankfully a couple of fans are reporting the weather is OK, there had been a few iffy forecasts around these last couple of days.

Uh oh we got Sam and Jack.

And Jacks already making a Horlicks of the commentary.

Just ahead of what is hopefully going to be racing chat because the commentators give us a perfect performance lol, i got to admit i doubt i could do their job when you think that they have to listen to and act upon the producers voice in their ear etc. and in Jack's case have Sam keep urgently interrupting him with wrong information to relay.

So why are we ok to criticize their performance to a little extent? because if we were being paid to do a job we'd be off to the dole queue in no time with how they have managed so far lol.

Looking forward to this and let's keep fingers crossed we get lots of speedway incidents to chat about (i such an extreme optimist)

I know it was against Latvia but a very nice comeback from Germany in heat one.

Oh dear , can I apply for the commentary job?

Jack is a fine circuit race commentator but isn't versed in speedway, surely tho some homework needed

I'm trying to limit any comments on the commentary but not for the first time Jack declares the race result after three laps!!! Mind you i've started off marking my card with the 3-2-1-0 system duhhhhh lol.

We getting a little bit of racing so far and i was fearing we wouldn't with all the mention of a slick track.
