BWitcher
So should Sky, i'm sure he's up to doing both jobs lol. Ok i'm off out for the night i thought it was a enjoyable meeting just a shame so many fans did not turn up, although i guess that's due to it being televised. Or it meaning bugger all... It was enjoyable in the sense its nice to see speedway on TV.. overall the racing was average at best, if it was a GP it would be being panned. secsy1
when you talk about riding one of them then that's an exception!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Pedaler
The commentary was awful. Eurosport should employ Dave Goddard. Simple as!
racers and royals
Isn't Round 2 on May 10 at Landshut ? Maybe it'll be Holder & Batchelor that evening, given its Eastbourne vs Poole the same night.won't be Batchelor as at the moment Czestochowa v Wroclaw is that day as well
YerRopes
Watched most of that, thought it drawn out, occasionally some interesting racing and as for those commentators, well Sam was a professional in comparison to that other guy.... For me anyway, a very poor advert tonight..

Bream
..eh. Team UK? Why on earth isnt BSPA sending a team to meeting that Eurosport is showing. Publicity would not hurt..
BWitcher
..eh. Team UK? Why on earth isnt BSPA sending a team to meeting that Eurosport is showing. Publicity would not hurt.. Sigh, because it's basically a challenge meeting. I get the impression Eurosport actually think it has meaning too with constant references to previous World Pairs results. The Polish fans weren't as easily duped as some thought they would be though.
screm
Gave up working out the points after the first few heats, as did the commentator, and just enjoyed one of the worst commentary's ever. Hope this pair wont be together when the SEC Pairs have their second round in a few weeks.

The Polish fans weren't as easily duped as some thought they would be though. It's really amusing how some Brits do their best to denounce the Best pairs and the SEC. SWC is the same thing, an invitational between a few limited teams. The difference between this and the SWC is that there were no silly rules as joker and double points here. ..eh. Team UK? Why on earth isnt BSPA sending a team to meeting that Eurosport is showing. Publicity would not hurt.. Since BSI does not like that. But I agree with you. BSPA had a good chance to promote themselves and British speedway by having the current British World Champion on large and wide international TV-coverage but apparently it's more important to enforce boycotts and such. All in all a quite enjoyable meeting with some really good heats. Definitely more enjoyable them many GPs on tracks such as Ullevi, Prague and Terenzano, The only problem is that too many of the riders doesn't seem to be team riders but rather riding for themselves. Screm, the points is very easy to understand. 1st 4p 2nd 3p 3rd 2p. 4th 0p. Thus team riding for 2nd and 3rd is beneficial then pulling away to secure the heat win. LagutaRacingFan
Not sure why MJJ didn't get a ride, Nicki never looked quick in tonight's meeting and PUK is a serial bottler. MJJ is a Torun track specialist.
screm
Giving the exploits of Burnicle & Ermolenko tonight, there should never ever be anymore complaints about Pearson & Tatum. Quite simply the worst speedway commentary ever, so bad that it became very entertaining in the end.
Daniel Smith
FFS people, reality check time. It doesn't seem to matter who the commentators are for our sport you lot can't help yourselves but moan about it. Considering Jack Burnicle isn't a speedway man and thrown into the deep end by Eurosport he did a bloody good job. Best Pairs, SEC, SGP, SWC, British Elite League, Swedish Elitserien are all on UK screens this season. Couldn't give 2 sh!ytes who the commentators are, we have speedway on the box. This is what we've wanted for many of years yet you're still not happy. Jeez

Answers please.

Specially I remember 1999 GP of Vojens, last GP of Hans Nielsen and same year Master of Spike from Berlin. He did.. eh not so good in ice speedway GP this year. Maybe he has been out for too long and takes time to get back in the game.
SteveLyric2
For a co-commentator to make Ermolenko sound intelligent - its got to be a Eurosport masterstroke!!!!!
SteveLyric2
I thought tonight's meeting was considerably better than last year's one round attempt Having commentators who actually knew the rules of the competition would also help. Showing a graphic of the running team totals more often on screen would also assist the viewer. With the Aussie boys perfecting the team riding aspect of the Pairs event in the final, I guess the biggest question facing Aussie fans now is will Poole's away EL meeting at Eastbourne on May 10th be rearranged or will Poole be missing Darcy and Eastbourne missing Woodward??? No, SWC is not the same thing. It seems you really do struggle with a very very basic concept. The SWC is the World Championship for teams. It has a history. It is Official. The 'Best Pairs' is not a World Championship. It is NOT official. It is just another fixture. It has nothing to do with 'us Brits'. Anyone with half a brain cell knows the difference, there is only you peddling this event as something it is not. From the crowd tonight its apparent the Poles haven't bought into it being official either. Do you think Torun would be half empty for a SWC event featuring Poland? If we adopted your ridiculous line of thinking the recently postponed Elite Riders Championships could be billed as a World Championship. Why don`t they just tell Ward to be at Eastbourne and honour his contract to British Speedway or do you know that he told Poole before he signed his contract that no way was he going to ride in Britain on May 10th.?
mikebv
that saying of 'so bad it's brilliant' has never been so appropriate... my 10 yr old lad, after watching two laps of the race the russians got excluded in, asked me, "Dad, why are the commentators calling Sayfutdinov Artem Laguta?".... I told him that I think it was because they went from the wrong gate positions so its confused them.. "But you can tell its Sayfutdinov by the way he rides and the colours on his race suit" he replied... well maybe a ten year old can tell, but a professional motor cycle commentator and an ex speedway world champ can't!!! can't wait for the next installment... ,
