Grand Central
Only the Brits think its cool, was never cool over here! I think you need to do a serious bit of re-evaluation on what is 'cool' in the UK before your next visit. If you think you wil be 'getting down wiv the yoof' by ordering a 'Bud' in a Yank accent here. Just stand back and wait for the p!ss-taking to start. Thinking 'bud' is 'cool' in the UK is as far in the past as thinking 'cool' is really 'cool'. Unless you wear your knitwear over your shoulders, Bud. A ORLOV
Budweiser's brewed over here now, described as "The World's poorest imitation of a poor imitation" Yanks have always been superb at selling snake oil. Budweiser, awful stuff. Edited February 7, 2014 by A ORLOV
waiheke1
I know many people who enjoy czech beers. I know no one who thinks, or has ever thought, that Budweiser is cool. In short Budvar good Budweiser not
george.m
Didn't even invent Budweiser. That was the Czechs originally! And the US version was "invented" by Adolphus Busch who was German.
SCB
So when commentating, will Kelvin and Nigel refer to "Chris Harris" or "Rider 37"?
ColinMills
erc, will harris be standard or 37? if this meant to be a merchandise idea, im sure individual events is where they will wanna sell 1 hat or a tshirt!
SteveEvans
So when commentating, will Kelvin and Nigel refer to "Chris Harris" or "Rider 37"? Probably neither. More people know him as Bomber than Chris. I say ditch numbers altogether and replace them with shapes. HenryW
I really am bemused as to how this has caused so much discussion. It seems to me that the numbers the riders wear are fairly irrelevant. If riders want something unique, surely it's reasonable to give them that option as it changes little for the fans...

I predict this thread will go 37 pages, or for those who don't do numbers, Chris Harris pages.
Grand Central
I really am bemused as to how this has caused so much discussion. It seems to me that the numbers the riders wear are fairly irrelevant. Of course they are. That's why it's been a little amusing to p!ss-take such a nonsense. I say ditch numbers altogether and replace them with shapes. Excellent idea. Could I put a word in for the idea of Egyptian Hieroglyphs, like those on BBC4's OnlyConnect. I would love to go to Cardiff and cheer for the 'Eye of Horus'. . Edited February 9, 2014 by Grand Central
westhamboy66
Little interest for me in riders numbers but common sense re the draw for GP's should come into play. I see no interest generated in the rider draw for the GP's and upon buying a programme it's an irritation having to write the riders into the program. Lets get back to just having the draw done before the programme is printed. Try and explain why, when completing the rider lineup to so some new to the sport that oh yes Tai Woffinden is actually no 1 but for the programme he is actually no 15 and oh yes chris harris is number 37 but he's actually no 1 for tonight. Four riders riding four laps can be so complicated. Back to basics please Mr BSI.

After lap one I doubt they will be reffering to him much at all I say ditch numbers altogether and replace them with shapes. Now that's thinking outside the box and just what the sport needs.
