Predictions For Top 4

Recommended Posts

Not many people putting Momarchs in thier top 6, i can see us in the final mix at the end along with Scunny, Rye,Worky, Newcastle, Ipswich and Peterborough

P.S. all 3 monarchs came through the Aussie champ qualifier today with Sam winning it, hope they all bring this form over with them.

Edited because i forgot about Worky :t:

Look tight call? Top 6 in no particular order: Peterborough, Newcastle, Workington, Berwick, Somerset, Edinburgh (always seem therabouts)

Its interesting to see the different tactics being played out again in 2014. Somerset, Edinburgh etc. going with the big hitter and weaker second strings whilst Newcastle, Workington and others sacrifice the big number one for a more balanced side.

Last year it worked for the big hitters but in 2012 Scunny took the title whilst Newcastle topped the league pile - both using the balanced methodology.

One thing is certain though - you do it only if your riders can up their averages. Nothing wrong with a couple of Premier League veterans to steady the ship (Robbo, Lanham, Howe etc and teach the 'young-uns' the ropes, but if your team is packed with them it's hard to get from 42.5 up to the 48's of league Champions. Older lads sometimes add a point but rarely more than that.

It will be interesting to see who has got it right? Who is taking the Michael? There are some strange choices out there but some clever promoters also.

Without sounding flipant and not wanting to put pressure on anyone, Newcastle potentially have a big hitting number 1 in their team already (my opinion only, of course!).

Without wanting to sound flippant either, who's that then???

If mills can get his finger out & get his average back up to 4.5/5 then I can see the comets running away with everything this year

Without wanting to sound flippant (again) is that really going to happen???

No Ipswich?
