Premier League Doubling Up Or Is It Doubling Down.

Recommended Posts

Not sure but sure I have read that riders who are doubling up from Premier League to the Elite League, will now have to give preference to Elite League fixtures over Premier League fixtures, when there two teams have fixture clashes

What are the implications for the Premier League riders are they allowed to use Guest riders or Rider Replacement.

And the Draft riders are they supposed to give preference to their Elite League commitments as well.Could be a problem for some clubs as they have quite a few riders who are doubling up or are draft riders, as you will see here.

Edinburgh

Craig Cook Belle Vue

Steve Worrall Swindon

Ipswich

Richie Worrall Belle Vue

Adam Ellis Lakeside

Newcastle

Lewis Kerr Kings Lynn

Lewis Rose Kings Lynn

Peterborough

Ryan Fisher Coventry

Plymouth

Ben Barker Birmingham

Kyle Newman Poole

Redcar

Richie Lawson Lakeside

Rye House

Edward Kennett Birmingham

Jason Garrity Coventry

Simon Lambert Birmingham

Somerset

Jason Doyle Leicester

Paul Starke Birmingham

Workington

Josh Grajczonek Poole

Ricky Wells Wolverhampton

Kyle Howarth Coventry

Ashley Morris Wolverhampton

Could be a problem over the season for some of these clubs especially Workington.

I wonder if it had any bearing on Somerset's decision to release Nick Morris.

Apparently if the rider is your asset you have priority. If not its down to who the rider has raced for longest.

So Coventry have priority over Fisher as hes a Bees asset but they play second fiddle to Workington on Howarth as he's a Comets asset.

Yet Jason Doyle is not the asset of either Leciester or Somerset so as Jason has raced for Somerset previously but not for Leciester then Somerset get priority.

Looking at that list the only three I see being an issue are Steve Worrall, Kennett and Starke as they all have new EL and PL clubs for 2014.

Thanks for the clarification, making things very complicated and will be ineresting to see how it all pans out when season gets going and if get start getting some rain off meetings and fixture backlogs.

What happens if a rider is say a Newcastle asset but he rides for, lets say, workington in the PL and Belle Vue in the El, Who would have priority of the rider?

I thought it was the team the said rider signed for first called the shots, for example if Worky signed him before Belle Vue did, Worky fixtures take priority?

If I am wrong then feel free to correct me?

As SCB explained, the team he's been contracted to for the longer time.

A rider who has been riding for workington in the PL and Poole in the EL for exactly the same amount of time?

A newcastle asset though.

(This is only an example but i'm just trying to be awkward :) )

It's almost impossible to sign 2 contracts at the same time and totally impossible to ride the first match for each team at the same time.

(I'm just trying to be patronising, no smiley used or implied.)

So if in theory rider has a fixture clash with his club the team in brackets get the services of that rider.

Remember though if the team in brackets changes the date of a meeting which then clashes with the d/u riders other club the rider will ride for the original scheduled meeting ie the other club.

I think you have Barker wrong, Birmingham will take priority as he'#s been there a few season, this is his first year (back) at Plymouth. other wise that makes sense.
