Yes you are - but - there are ways of saying it.

I am not in the habit of taking remarks out of context. You said, and I quote: "Don't really care" you were talking about Glasgow.

Not much to take out of context there - is there?

No - thought not.

Foamfence will be the one foaming with disappointment come october.

I won't, because I really don't care. But the idea of joining a league, is to try and win it, or at least be competitive. Glasgow seem to have taken anyone who is available. Fair enough, you might have some promising lower order riders, but they won't win matches. The trouble starts when you look at the top of the shop. Optimists might well point to the potential, if all the oldies ride to their best, personally I doubt that they will.

The above was the post. I don't care if I'm the one foaming come October.

I don't see what that has to do with your previous post. I made no remarks about any club closing or anything to do with any club closing (I lost my own club Halifax, decades ago). Tomorrow I might say a team looks like being serious challengers or I might say another doesn't (they can't all win the league).

Personally, I would have ignored it, had I been a Tigers supporter. It's still a very uninspiring line-up to me.

You're correct, of course, foamfence. Ignoring ignorance is always the best policy. I would always be happy to ignore your type of rant. Obviously, you believe that your team is young, state of the art and cutting edge who will walk away with all honours (Hang on, your profile says your team is Halifax - don't fancy their chances much this season!).

So, ignoring foamfence's rant, the teambuilding philosophy is fairly simple. Unless you have a promotion who can bankroll a team of hot prospects, gambles have to be taken. Someone on the forum stated 'Glasgow have taken anyone who is available' - why on earth would we have taken someone who was not available (not rocket science, that one). Our geographic location means that we have to always had to have realistic expectations regarding signings (speedway riders have plenty of travelling to do no matter where they are located - weekly travel to the Northern outposts of the league is not a bonus). Last season's gambles did not pay off and, coupled with injury problems, Glasgow paid the price. We are backing a couple of hopeful bets again which always adds to the intrigue. The main point is that we are running this season and have a team with a decent blend of youth and experience.

drosser don't take the bait.

The Minions have such a poor team this year all they have to talk about is us!

They daren't come on here saying what they really think about their own team's prospects.

The truth will be known come 28th March at Armadale.

Bring your daughter to the slaughter!
