The White Knight
Mark Lemon was a good servant to Newcastle - I, for one, hope he gets fixed up OK.
Former devil
Good luck to him but after the shenanigans of last year Plymouth are well rid of him! Yes Plymouth are well rid of him but it shouldnt have got to the stage where they had to drop him. He should never have been considered for a team spot in the first place. Very poor from the promotion imo

Arson fire
Never got his nose in front much last season... Which is a shock
Lord Skid
numerous to mention to say the least but most notably. ..blaming Paul Starke for Ashley Birks nasty accident last season...forever blaming the track conditions instead of looking at his own performances on many occasions. . Taking his own riders into the fence for own personal gain but hey ho that's just my opinion He wasn't the only one blaming Starke for the accident, nobody else caused it. Halifaxtiger
He wasn't the only one blaming Starke for the accident, nobody else caused it. I was there that night and Starke lost control and hit Birks, something that happens hundreds of times throughout the season. It was Starke's fault, but the way Lemon blamed him was absolutely unnecessary (I believe he later apologised). From comments made by both Newcastle and Plymouth (I have heard the comments made above at both tracks and on many occasions) I certainly wouldn't want him in my team. SteveLyric2
Good luck to him but after the shenanigans of last year Plymouth are well rid of him! ...and despite all the so-called 'shenanigans' - still offered and signed a contract with one of the 3 co-promoters!! At the risk of appearing naive, I have to say that I have always thought of Mark as a complete professional. Certainly in his time at Newcastle, he was a reliable captain and despite his performances tailing off after an unfortunate injury against Glasgow, he was always capable of going out and winning heats 13 and/or 15. Australian speedway must hold him in decent esteem following his role as team captain over the last couple of years. I do recall that he had a new lease of life after he joined us from Newport and his role was pivotal in helping the Diamonds be a successful team over recent seasons. Have I missed something? Halifaxtiger
Have I missed something? Judging by the comments below from the Plymouth thread, yes. The big rumour is that Lemon is returning which I hope to god isn't true! Lemon is quite frankly a disgraceful signing that will see many fans think twice about attending Lemons a terrible signing Lemons a terrible signing Strangely enough that's what we're all saying too! Watching him on a couple of occasions at Glasgow last year , it certainly looked like he was ready for retirement nice to see everyone is being polite about lemon, but lets face it no-one wanted him back and not many wanted him last season either I have to say that last year Mark tended to blame everything as a reason for his poor form. Arson fire
He always seems or seemed to get a ride in heat 15, no matter how bad he was during the meetings.
Halifaxtiger
I heard similar comments at Newcastle - during his last season, anyway. If you are averaging around the 10pt mark, people will put up with moaning and complaining. When it drops below 7, they won't.
J_D
To me he has always come across very professional. Always willing to drop things for guest bookings and also not take the mick for things like expenses. Yes as riders get older they tend to moan more. Like all of us in all forms of life!?!? I for one would be happy to employ him unlike some mercenaries out there.
