Bash
Nonsense, Never an issue in the past and Greenwood was injured. Greenwood was injured but they didn't bring in a temporary replacement they bought in a permanent one which may be an issue to bring him back in. Hodgy
Since when? No such rule and AFAIK never has been a rule. Certainly not in my 10 years of taking an interest in the rules anyway. That's probably the average time it takes to read the rule book.
hans fan
Because the BSPA are bent to the core when it comes to certain teams? Just saying mind..... I can see why panthers haven't won a thing since 2006 if they think that team was good enough to challenge for anything , they can be as bent as they like when they rejected that line up
TheScotsman
Agreed - it would have been a joke team. And I rate Panthers as my second team!!
wealdstone
Could riders still be owed money hence BSPA's decision? They wouldn't be the only team behind on riders payments. Nobody that RF is even marginally involved with is owed money
barrow boy
Sadly, without a plausible reason being given (by the MC, officially), people will draw their own conclusions and, with his title-chasing Monarchs being first in the firing line for Roo-Boy (and a small matter of a Cup Final in the near future) it's very easy to put two and two together. Within rules, promotions should be able to put together whatever team they like without interference from interested parties. Given the fact the particular interested party has two very good reasons for wishing to keep Panthers' strength down is it surprising such conclusions will be reached? If the refusal has been made based upon his current BEL average of 6.86 then why does Craig Cook still ride for Belle Vue on an average of 7.01 and Danny King be allowed to ride for Newcastle with a current BEL average of 6.93? Crump99
If the refusal has been made based upon his current BEL average of 6.86 then why does Craig Cook still ride for Belle Vue on an average of 7.01 and Danny King be allowed to ride for Newcastle with a current BEL average of 6.93? Because speedway rules are only guidelines to be considered before the matter is discussed behind closed doors and the brown paper bag slipped under the door as soon as the white smoke emanates from BSPA towers signalling that they've arrived at that day's decision!
Al Stewart
As I understand it no new double-ups are permitted amongst work permit riders. That's why Sam Masters wasn't allowed to sign for Leicester. It's not broadcast from the rooftops in case any that slipped through earlier are subject to new scrutiny. The conspiracy theories are laughable but will no doubt continue. Peterborough fans should not wish any harm to Alex Harkess, he is they best friend they have got.

Bagpuss
As with most MC decisions a little bit of transparency would put a lot of conclusion jumping to bed if everything is above board in the first place. People will always assume the worst with decision makers having an interest in their own clubs but they bring criticism on themselves by not being honest and open.

This is why I am so pessimistic about Speedway's future. To paraphrase: Honesty and Transparency is ALWAYS the best policy.
